Here we have supposed "leaked images" of the next Nintendo Direct, be warned, they look more real than others.

Apparently Nintendo has just trademarked King K. Rool's name. Omen of an upcoming Smash DLC announcement?

What they meant was this.
On Nintendo's online Virtual Console listing for DK: Jungle Climber, King K. Rool's name has TM next to it, something we haven't seen.
This could mean a variety of things.
K. Rool may be part of the next Donkey Kong game, he could be part of that reported Diddy Kong Racing 2, he could be the most popular character on the Smash Ballot, or Nintendo just feels like trademarking him.

Yea I heard etika talk about this and K rool might be in smash
Why else would they put a TM for jungle climber and not Country

Oh yeah I've seen this. The trademark could mean a lot of things and this makes me think K Rool will be added as a Smash Bros fighter. Just because I've seen so many others vote for him and support him nearly everywhere. I'd be fine with his inclusion, he has potential to be an interesting and fun fighter. Though him returning to the DK series would be great as I liked him in the DK games. Of course they could just be trademarking him but it probably means something DK related after that Diddy Kong trademark.

My reaction if this is true.

I have a really dark sense of humor, btw.

I thought this was debunked yesterday
So is this fake? I thought we didn't know yet

I think it's interesting to note that the K. Rool costume is based on his classic look from the original DKC trilogy, namely his giant crown, stubby tail, and golden belly. What does this mean?

First of all, if K. Rool wasn't being considered as a playable character, it would be so easy for Sakurai to just look at K. Rool's latest design (Jungle Climber/King of Swing designs) and make a costume based on that. The most obvious cue there is that the costume would lack a tail.

Instead, imagine if Sakurai was doing research on K. Rool's abilities to make him playable by looking at the original DKC trilogy. By the same token, he could be basing his Smash Bros. K. Rool on this classic design as well.

Finally, because all artwork and sprites of K. Rool's old design are all rather outdated, creating a costume based on that look would be far more difficult than creating a costume based on his modern appearance.
