Rate Mario Party 9

ok Mario Party 9 is i think the best Mario Party on Wii and is a lot fun to play.

So here are my likes & dislikes of the game.

Good
Color Toads as hosts.
Minigames were just fantastic.
Boards were awesome with my favorites being Toad Road & Bowser Station.
Extra Minigames were Epic like
goomba bowling.

The editions of Shy Guy, Koopa, Kamek were awesome.
Car was cool.
Constalations were epic.
The ability to change cars was cool.

Bad
Game was based to much on luck.

This game by far was the best Mario Party yet all in all i give it a 9/10 it would of gottton a perfect 10 if the game wasn't so much luck based.

I'd have to agree (though personally I don't care much about Toad) but 6/10 would probably be my score as well, unless you're with other players.

The ideas were good, but they were done poorly. The whole idea of the car system was supposedly to work together to reclaim the Mini Stars while still messing up each other. And how was it done? Work together to jump over a broken bridge in Toad Road, which by the way players can't actually do so since it's based on a dice roll, which means luck. Work together to squish a mouse in Boo's Horror Castle, which once again, uses dice so it's luck based. Dive down into the sea to get mini stars and not get robbed by fishbones in Blooper Beach, which for the third time, uses dice so it depends on luck. Work together to defeat a boss in any board, which by the way, the boss never wins and the co-operation is not like Running of the Bulb or Key-Pa-Way from the first Mario Party where the players could lose the minigame, and they had to actually work together to win the minigame. Mess up rivals with special dice blocks, which by the way, you can only carry two at a time and the type that you get (Slow, 1-3, 0-1, 1-10 and 4-6) is almost always random.
 
5/10 cons: car mode is boring but i know they tried to refresh the series with a new formula but no, most of the boards are boring and long, bad character roster (no offense to fans), the DK map is a disgrace, and short amount of unlockables. pros:  They have good mini-games, nice extra mode, and a dense storyline.

Graphics are great
Some minigames are great
The references to NSMB and the SMG games were nice
Bad soundtrack (overall) imo the only amazing theme was the title screen. There were quite a few good and notable themes) but the rest were really bad-sounding and unfitting.
Bad roster
No items, only 4 "special dice blocks" that affect just the distance you travel
No saving or loading in party mode, which is extremely stupid. Games are too long to not be able to save and continue them later
No options at all
The fact that you had to press A every single time a message popped up with the AI! They didn't even let you skip events. Also too many messages/confirmations, seemed like five of them popped up in everyone's turn.
Extremely luck based. Story mode is frustrating because they always give kamek/shy guy the upper hand of the luck. Needs to be more balanced out. Half your stars gone for running into a boo? Half your stars gone for having a bob-omb explode when they happen multiple times in one party? Stupid. And they still didn't ditch the luck minigames.
Captain Events were plain unneeded and they were nothing but roll a die and hope you get some mini-stars, all luck.
Stupid mini-stars instead of stars/coins (I think coins are very much absent in this game) and the bonus stars are only worth five ministars? Really? You can probably get like, triple that much in one turn alone.
Car mode is terrible. Game imo would have been  much better off with the old style of party mode
ND Cube needs to stick with Wii Party tbh.

Short in put, I get that they're trying to be innovative, but the execution of such was really disappointing I lost faith in the MP series after playing this, especially since Hudson supposedly went bankrupt.
 
New rating: 2/10. On a scale of 1 to 100, it's 5/100.

Reason? Too much was half-assed. Co-operate with bosses? They can't even win a fight. Jump over Toad Road's broken bridge? You're using dice. That's so little co-operation compared to many Pair minigames in Wii Party, many 1 vs 3 and 2 vs 2 minigames in the series, some Bowser Jr. minigames in this game, Running of the Bulb and Key-Pa-Way from the first Mario Party, Harmony Hustle from Mario Sports Mix, and many Dream Events from the second and third Mario and Sonic games. I can tolerate the luck, but not when the dice is rubberbanded. Bowser is so overpowered in this game too. I hated Mario Kart Wii, but it's so much better than this POS.
