Pulling out USBs

Do you guys do the whole "Safely Remove Hardware" thing before taking out your USB or flash drive out of your computer? I always yank it out when I'm done and I have never had a problem. I hate it when people go to all the trouble to go in the options and "safely remove" their usb and then you suggest just pulling it out and they go on about how it will delete all your files.

Yeah, I always do the safely remove thing first, to ensure I don't lose anything. Especially when I use it at school or beforehand. I used it plenty of times for college recently.

I use to just yank it out but then I did that and my USB just died basically. Most of the time I click the safety feature but I still yank it out sometimes.

It's not really an issue unless file transfers are occurring - that's when you need to use Safely Remove yadda yadda...

Never "safely" do it. Always just yank it out when I'm done with it.

The Macs tend to tell you next time try to remember to eject before yanking in case data could be lost.
Then again ejecting on a Mac is simply dragging the USB folder to the bin.

As long as you aren't in the process of saving you're fine.. Nothing will get lost if nothing is being put on it when you take it out.

I safely remove, it only takes a few seconds; It doesn't bother me. If I don't do it with my Cruzer, it gives me an error the next time I use them.
