Populous was the first game I've ever played, and it's probably one of the best. The game contained new and original unseen unique features that was revolutionary for its time.
Command loyal followers, build spectacular structures, cast a variety of magnificent and lethal spells as you control a powerful Shaman whose aim was to obliterate the enemies, or 'heretics'. If I remember correctly, you win by killing the opponents Shaman.
Unfortunately the game is incredibly old now and doesn't work on my computer. However, there have been an attempt to bring it back (populous DS), but didn't have a great reception. I do have to admit though, the PC game was a lot better. Nonetheless, there is a rumour that there is a new populous game in development. I can only hope that this is true.
Have anyone else heard of this or even played it?
