What would you like to see in the pokemon series?

Personally, I'd like to see longer evolutionary chains (6 stage evolutions, anybody?) and no trade-only evolutions. More alien-looking pokemon would be nice too, compared to all the animal knock-offs we see.
 
Pokémon Double Packs: You buy the two versions of the game in one cartridge with two save slots (1 FOR EACH VERSION) where you could trade pokémon to one version to another.

Non exclusive stuff: Like HeartGold/Soulsilver had Ho-Oh and Luiga for both versions

More Types: Light, Shadow, Alien, Radioactive, Cake...

A light type might be good as a counterpart to Dark, though I'm not sure how it could be implemented without going for a stereotypical 'lol, holiness' thing. Alien / ??? or something could work too, since you could have pokemon from space made out of some weird material unavailable on earth, or something.
 
I'd also like to see some non Fire / Water / Grass starters. There's plenty of rock - paper - scissors triads in pokemon. Can't remember exactly which since it's been a few years since I last played a pokemon game, but Dark / Psychic / Fighting was one.

Some more story events to get legendaries would be nice. I used to use cheats on Pokemon Diamond / Platinum / whatever and there were a bunch of event items to be able to get pokemon. Like you could get a Members' card which would let you encounter Darkrai. IIRC you could never actually get these without cheating and Nintendo just distributed the legendaries via events.

Back a few years ago I drew literally ~1k pokemon and had all these ideas for a new pokemon game set on an island nation. 'Twas fun drawing them, but I don't have any of the original drawings anymore. :/

Some years ago i drew some Fakemon which included: *Penny Pokémon*->*Coin Pokémon*->*Bill Pokémon*, A Legendary Trio of Dragons (Water, Fire and Ice), A *Pidgeon* which could evolve into *Psychic Super Pigeon* with a Shiny Stone/*Dark Super Pidgeon*with a Dusk Stone/*Fighting Super Pidgeon* with a Moon Stone, WHICH would evolve by leveling up later to *Psychic Mega Pidgeon*/*Dark Mega Pidgeon*/*Fighting Mega Pidgeon* respectively :D These are the only ones i remember but i drew much more.

Note: Everything between '*' are temporary names because i don't remember their names XD
 
^ Yeah, it'd be nice to get Red / Blue transferred to 3DS. That's the only one that's GBA-bound!

Honestly though I'm not sure if a new version would be better than the old. I might replay GBA Ruby just because of the classic factor.
 
I'd like to see:

Battle Frontier return, to have something else to do in the games

Mega Evolutions...but with types too: I'd like to see Types mega evolve too, like Ice goes into Frost which could be normal to fire instead of weak against and I'd also like more mega evolutions too

A new Type: maybe a Digital/Space type...also Light type is technically Fairy because it's strong against dark and dragon

Maybe a longer region and more Pokemon...unlike Gen 6

This is my idea but I think these names would be cool for the next versions: Pokemon Cosmic and Nebula, or Pokemon Light and Dark
