Playstation 2 discontinued after 13 years.

After 13 years of amazing games, the Playstation 2 has finally been discontinued. If I'm not mistaken I'm pretty sure its the longest a system has lasted before going under. How do you guys feel about this? Have any fond memories or favorite games? I think there are too many games for me to name as my favorite. RIP PS2, you were truly one of the best consoles.

I heard the news online a few days ago. It was definitely the longest run in console history, I believe. I mean, it definitely was for Sony on its own. PlayStation 2 will be missed by many, it had DVD support. I have never owned nor tried out the PlayStation 2, though I think I might have once that I can't even remember. If I did, then I'm sure it was very early in its life, like in 2001 or 2002.

Unless the newer slims had it, I don't believe it had blue-ray support, just dvd. The PS3 was the one with blue-ray support.
 
So much nostalgia, i remember a variety of games with my family and friends. It is weird that i have never own a laystation 2 and still played a lot of games for it.

Dragon Ball Z Tenkaichi 3
Marvel Nemesis
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monk
Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance

There so much more but i'm having a block. It also have the best Controller in history for fighting games, Yes RIP Playstation 2.

And don't even try to pull a "B-B-But you're a Sony Fanboy!" because I've owned and played every Nintendo console up to the Wii U. I know my shit about the consoles.

I don't like it, and that's it. (Though it had quite huge flaws in it as well)
I don't honestly care if you are a Sony Fanboy or not, I'm still going with what I think.

And also, I'm still giving it some credit, though (reason why I posted here in the first place) - it had entertained me for a short while, and it was a great DVD player when I couldn't find another one [if it didn't have problems occasionally].

If you have no other reason than "because" of course people don't accept that. Being a smartass about it doesn't help either. Maybe if you provided some reasons instead of reverting to the NINTENDO IS GOD mentality.

I'd accept it if it actually was an opinion and not just "PS2 sux because it's not Nintendo."
