I kind of see what Blue Toad is saying, before M&L was handheld and PM is console, and now it's mishmash. I guess..... but I think moving MP to handheld is a little retarded to begin with, but oh well.

The only reason Paper Mario is made on a handheld now is that the graphics of the 3DS are good enough to make a nice quality game. If Paper Mario was on the DS it would be really pixely and jagged. Mario and Luigi series was created for handhelds exclusively due to the limitations of the hardware and to have a Mario portable RPG. If Mario and Luigi games didn't exist there wouldn't be Mario RPGs on handhelds but now with this new hardware they can create games they couldn't make in the past.

I personally think the graphics on this game look pretty bad just me though

I love the M&L series too, they actually have both bros. in the game working together at the same time. I think it's a solid series; It defines the Mario Bros. imo.

Thank you, I was trying to think of an example to compare this with and I just couldn't think of one.

Although it may be a new style, you can't just state their is going to be a competition of two series on the same console, by the same developers, there'd be no point, and it wouldn't make much sense. I mean, the games are practically the same in most ways, but you can't say they'll just fight each other into nothing.

I think your forgot about me. I'm not a fan of M&L mainly cuz I never played it andI  don't want to so I have no real connection with the game. I wont be heart broken if they end.

I've never played Paper Mario, but I do know A TON about the series.  Hopefully 3ds can try a new gimmick similar to the 2d and 3d in SMP, but bring back the RPG style combat from the first two.

I absolutely agree about the gameplay mechanic, but the story, to me, just wasn't that interesting. Yes, I know it's usually about Peach getting kidnapped by Bowser, but it just didn't keep me very interested; It was more like a love story at the end. Still...it was a better love story than Twilight.

SPM story was really good. One of the best stories of a game that I have played. (professor Layton and the Unwound Future beat it)
