Paper Mario Series

Talk about the Series, in general, here.

64 was excellent, it had a memorable story.  The puzzles and battles were fun.  There was great dialogue.

TTYD improved on everything in the previous game, but the took the spin dash out and that personally bothered me.  I did like the custom Yoshi, though.  =P

SPM was fun, but it was too short and WAY too easy.  Just too simple and boring, compared to the other two, but nevertheless, a pretty good game.

I first got the original Paper Mario and... I'm sorry if I upset fans... but I don't like it. Its quite boring and I just can't seem to get anywhere.

Never played PMTYD.

I recently got Super Paper Mario and I think its awesome. The ability to flip between dimensions is one of the best ideas in video game history. Awesome game!  ;D

Paper Mario is one of my favorite Mario series.
I liked the origional Paper Mario because it has a big overworld and the graphics.
Paper Mario TTYD is my favorite out of all of them it has great cutscenes, humor, story, and the overworld.
Super Paper Mario was a great game being able to play as the 4 main Mario characters, having  a Super Mario Bros level layout, and the story.

SPM was terrible IMO. Heavy texts, poor battle gameplay, lame boss fights, and tedious side-quests. It completely ruined the Paper Mario formula. I want my Paper Mario 3 please.

Paper Mario was a fun game. Tubba Blubba was mad gangsta.  8)

TTYD was the best out of the current 3. Good battle system, nice flow of game pace, and a nice story. I love Goombella as a partner. <3

The original Paper Mario is my favourite game on the N64 and is my favourite in the series.

TTYD was pretty good too but I thought they made it a little too complicated with all the new features but its fantastic game.

SPM is a decent game but I found the main game to be a quite boring and too easy and a bit gimmic-y. The story was great but I found the long dialogue to be annoying and boring.

Paper Mario on the Nintendo 64 was a great game, and had a good battle system. The only downside was that you couldn't continue after officially beating Bowser.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door was a great game, and had many improvements than Paper Mario. There wasn't anything that I disliked, except a bit of back-tracking.

Super Paper Mario, however, wasn't like the first two. It was nice to try it in a different way, but it didn't feel like a RPG. It was more of a platformer.

Exactly. Paper Mario is strictly RPG, it shouldn't have been mutilated by having the Platforming element.

...what the hell? VIP wasn't criticizing Super Paper Mario for feeling more like a platformer than an RPG, or better yet, it doesn't seem like it. He was just implying that it felt more like a platformer than an actual RPG.

I haven't played Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door in a while, but last time I remember, I was in one huge Gordian Knot that I stopped playing ever since. I had no coins left, my life bar was down, and I had no weapons to battle that dragon in the first chapter.

@Ether: Nope. Try again.

Must've worded something wrong, because I mentioned that VIP wasn't trying to criticize the game for its overwhelming platformer-style, but just implying that the game felt more like a platformer than an RPG. That's what I meant. *face palms at own's stupidity*

Anyway, when I hook up my Wii in the basement, I'll try to play Paper Mario: TTYD all over again.

This series is one of my favorite Mario series.

Paper Mario was one of my first n64 games. It was amazing. I loved the story and boss fights also Jr. Troopa the hoodrat lol.

TTYD is the best of the three, in my opinion. It had the best graphics and a really good storyline. Although I agree with Vip that the backtracking in the game was hell..

SPM was a good game in it's regard, but the graphics were cheap (most of the stuff could have been made by etch-a-sketches) and it was too easy.. Also trying to mix the platform and RPG doesn't work. Zelda II ring a bell Nintendo?
