Nintendo is actually making the 3DS cheaper now and dropping the $249.99 price tag to $169.99 on August 12th. Don't fret if you bought one when it was more exspensive, Nintendo has a nifty idea called the Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Program. Basically if you've used the E-Shop on your 3DS once at least before 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 11 (Which most people have), you automatically get registered for the program where we'll receive 20 free games via the E-Shop. Starting Sept. 1, we'll be able to start downloading 10 free NES games of various titles, which we get earlier and these will be released on the E-Shop later. By the end of 2011, Nintendo will provide Ambassadors with 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games, these games will be available exclusively to Ambassadors, and Nintendo currently has no plans to make these 10 games available to the general public on the Nintendo 3DS in the future. By the way just to let you know, this is legit because it's from the official Nintendo website.
