Decided to create a new board, here is the layout that I've got so far. I don't know the theme or the idea of the board yet, I'll be making it based on the layout.

Let me know what you guys think, what is good/bad, what can be abused, etc. Some things may be intentional so I'll say so if it's brought up!

So, you cannot fall on a bank space? Just pass on it? 
Also, find the board neat but passing that bank at the down right section doesn't seems rewarding enough, only for a battle where loosing 5 coins isn't very much of an issue or Bowser if you have no coins at all.

Oops, those should be bank spaces, you're right. I also forgot to add some variety over on the left side of the board.

The trade off with that bank on the left is that it's faster, but looking at it again, I should probably add more spaces to the other path to make it a little more worth it.

Any ideas on a theme for this board layout?

A mountain maybe?
The center could be the regular way to climb it, the top left side could be an plain area with the down leading to a path in a forest
The right part could be a village in the mountain  And yeah, I suggest you add more spaces to the other path or the bank space has favorable spaces! ^^

This looks like an alright board despite the lack of a title. I agree, the bank in the bottom right is kind of pointless. Regardless, I see good things with this board!

Here is an updated version:

Bank path is shorter and includes a star so there is a reason to go there for at least something. Path on the right is longer.

Added a junction on the long winding path on the left.

And Spongyoshi, I really like you're idea! I think I'm going to go with that!

Happening spaces obviously do nothing, and spaces are aligned. I may change some of space locations, feel free to suggest anything!

Hey SuperZambezi,

I played your Mount Whittle board the other day and found it to be pretty fantastic! I love the layout, theme, and the balance of the different spaces in it. Kudos for your excellent design!

By the way, what tools did you use for the custom backgrounds? It is really impressive! It looks just like a board Nintendo designed themselves in-house

Thanks! I used Sketchup to create the background, so I was using and making 3D objects. I'm no artist, that's why I resort to this - but it also gives it somewhat of a MP look!
