Minigames

Judging from the Video, it looks like either this Mario Party will have retro mini-games or just modified past mini-games. I'd like to see coins return as the prize for winning mini-games, mini-star distribution was very unfair. I'd like to see what the new ones will be. Hopefully they are something we never seen before.

Some minigames were good but make the spread +10/+7/+4/+1 for ranking distribution.
+10... 7... 4... what?
We all know that prizes won't consist of that since each board has it's own style.
Probably best to give out dice-blocks to players who did better, or if only 1 player will win, then give them an item related to that game mode.

For the actual minigames, yeah, so far none of them look too interesting... but I open Nintendo is just showing us the worst of what they got to make us excited for what they really have... which doesn't make sense to me, really...

...although that still one that looks like a platformer could be interesting...

Maybe it's these flags stuff like we see in the first board? However it's still hard to say if it's really this and if it is, how they will be given at the end of the minigame... winner only? With places? I think it would be nice to see something like Mario Party 9, maybe...

And about the minigames, they look alright however it's hard to say which is which at the moment.

The flag number meter tells you how many spaces you're away from the end

So that means that the minigames would be related to something else, right...? I wonder what... maybe something else than these said flags in the first board?
Well, from the look of things, Mini-games for this game could mean that whoever wins gets to move first, or if that turn order is permanent for the duration of a board play, could mean that whoever wins first gets a higher chance of getting closer to the goal.

Two things I noted:

On the Grassland board at least, mini games are going to occur after every turn ("junban gime game" being pretty much that).

Wasn't brought up earlier but AR minigames also feature in this instalment, the one showcased reminded me of that 1vs3 minigame from I think MP7 but with possible role reversal...?

As for the minigames themselves, there's definitely inspiration from retro minigames but I think only one or two are reskinned copies of existing games per se...

Edit- the screenshot only minigame reminds me of Goomba Wrangler

Some 4-Player (or should I say Free-For-All if necessarily) Minigames want you to get the most points than the other players by doing certain objectives, others is a race when one player must reach the finish first, and the rest are luck based which can be hard to win.

Minigame Records will make a return for some.

Don't know what will happen if someone wins a Minigame... (we will find out soon!)

The AR Minigames only interest me, but I think they could appear in Extras Mode (if available).

And finally, I'm a bit excited to be honest when I try them out!

Just a thought that came up - what if Nintendo decided to make this game have variable players like in MP9?
It's very possible, and maybe that could result in them making only Free-for-all and 1-vs-Rivals only minigames.

What would you all think if Nintendo decided that would be the smart thing to do?

If they do that, I just hope they'll be smart enough to include more of those 1-vs-Rivals games. 10 in total was a very small number of games to go with...
