There should be a game where Mario & Sonic go off in a 2D & 3D Adventure for the Nintendo 3DS! Instead of olympics. I'll try to come up with more info. On what I think it should be like.

Mario & Luigi was walking through the Mushroom Kingdom, when suddenly a machine teleported out from nowhere, in that machine was Sonic & Shadow! They came out and said they didn't mean to come in their dimension it's just that they were being chased by Eggman in his new Eggbot 1000! Then Sonic & Shadow and Mario & Luigi remembered each other, from the olympics. Then Shadow stated he had to use Chaos Control in the machine to get away. But they just remembered that Eggman had a teleportation device! Then came Eggman, and Bowser's Airship arrived with him and his minions in it! Bowser saw Eggman and remembered him! And Bowser stated that he wanted to join an alliance with Eggman, Eggman agreed! Eggman then showed he had stolen the 7 Chaos Emeralds, then he used them on him and Bowser, to make them invincible. They battled Mario, Sonic, Shadow, & Luigi, and defeated them!! Then they boarded the Airship, and headed torward Peach's Castle, where Daisy was resting at, and Peach was walking around. Then they demolished the castle and kidnapped Peach! Then they headed off to Bowser's Castle, where they held Peach hostage, so they went off to save Peach and get back the Chaos Emeralds!
