I haven't played MP9 yet, but it does look better than 8 was.

I had played Mario Party 9 quite a bit and really loved this game here!

Going to have to go with Mario Party 9. Despite the boards bringing in a lot of luck, the mini-games felt really polished and really utilized the motion. Mario Party 8 may have, but not to its full potential.

Even though Mario Party 9 was more luck-biased, I like it more.
I generally like the mini-games more, though.

Plus ~ it has some really cool boards as well that could only be made through this game, while Mario Party 8's were just... not so good...

Yes - playing Power Tennis for some time now...
Unfortunately lost my memory card, so I need to find that again before I continue.

Oh yes. Been playing a lot of Mario Power Tennis recently. Even got the Ace Ranking, too. For now, been playing it for fun, as well.
