Two-Player Co-Op. I have pitiful sacrifices made to get all star coins so I could move on to the next level without having to go back. I basically kill my self off to get a star coin while my sister goes pro and runs through the level as if it was nothing. It is also fun because me and my sister have hilarious panic attacks when we are about to die! I'm like : OOOHH S***!!! Those creatures known as "Goombas" are EVIL!!! THEY ARE EVIL, I TELL YOU, EVIL!!! I always die when I'm in the first world because of those damn Goombas!

The only reason I havn't bought a NSMB game is because I would get more enjoyment playing multiplayer. Unfortunately, like Yoshiman and VIP, there's nobody around me who's interested in playing a game like that. So until it has Wi-fi where someone online can join your game, I probably won't get it.
Myself. My brother probably wont be getting NSMB 2, so that leaves just me. I wish it had online co-op.

I have not seen much but I think the Balloon fight Trip Breeze will be better for single player and Metroid Blaster for multiplayer.
Metroid Blast since it's confirmed to be multiplayer, and since we don't know much about the other one.
