Mario Party DS

Let's talk about this one.

After that piece of crap, known as 8, Hudson made one last Mario Party game before they stopped completely, and that game was Mario Party DS

This one is one of my favorites. The boards were pretty well-designed, the minigames were great, and made good use of the DS's touch screen (with a few exceptions, *coughs*Trace Cadets*coughs*) and it had the best item system in any Mario Party game yet.

My only issue with the game was the smaller amount of boards, but I can forgive that since it was on smaller hardware.

What's your thoughts on this one?

A really solid Mario Party game! Minigames and Boards are really great!

I had a lot of fun with that game. The minigames were really nice and the boards were pretty cool: fun mechanics and cool design (even if the graphics weren't the best). And it was on handheld, which is a pro (imo).

It's the best Mario Party handheld game. I really think it's a Mario Party handheld game done right. The only problem I have is the duel system, which is probably one of the crappiest yet in the Mario Party series.

IMO MP8 would've been a lot better if the graphics weren't so terrible.

I played a fair bit of MPDS. Was fun. Might want to get Island Tour to relive the experience, but I've heard it's minigames are bad.

I wouldn't mind them being BAD, per se, but they were stretched and the game didn't support wide screen. MP9 was beautiful compared to MP8. But MP8 had better gameplay.

Mario Party 9 is probably the most beautiful Mario game, model quality wise, next to the Mario & Sonic games. I don't know why it's usually these types of spin-offs that get the best Mario graphics.

Same could be said for the Wii U. Mario Party 10 and Mario & Sonic on the Wii U have really, really nice looking models.

I thought Mario Party DS's graphics were decent, for a DS game. At least they look better than Mario Kart DS or Super Mario 64 DS.

 

[Mario Sports Mix]

Mario Party DS was a pretty decent game. I'd like it more if the duel system was more like MP5/6 and if the item prices weren't so cheap.
