Because I wuv you guise, I'm going to post this here before MPF. So enjoy.
This was originally written about a year ago. I have a few more episodes, but I doubt I'll get around to updating. :/
MARIO IN HIGH SCHOOL
Days Before
It's quite strange is this city to get heavy rain before the summer's warmth ends, disappearing into a cool autumn breeze. Toad Town's horizon in this rain was practically invisible, as water poured from the heavens. Along the sidewalk ran a young teenager. He was wearing beige cargo jeans, and had a green hoody on. His name was Luigi Mario.
The mailbox was at the corner of Martin Court and Shutterdale Drive. Luigi quickly went to the halt and franticly opened the little cubby. Pulling the two white envelopes out, he closed it, but realized he forgot to lock it and ran back.
Luigi was nearly drenched by the time he got back to the red roofed house on Mario Avenue. Luigi walked inside, and looked at the dry Mario, who sat on the black leather couch, watching TV and drinking a cold cola. He laughed at his soaked brother.
"You know, you could've went." Luigi said, taking off the wet hoody and opening the door again, only to squeeze the water out of it.
Mario laughed, "I sent you because you were the one who won the 200 metre at Track and Field." He sipped his pop, "You got our school schedules, right?"
"Of course, my lord." Luigi said sarcastically. He flinged one of the envelopes onto Mario's lap. They both tore them open, taking out the small pack of papers, but only the white one were they concerned about.
"Alright, I have Science, History, Woodshop and Geography in this half of the year." Mario read aloud, putting his pop on the end table above him.
"I've got Science, Compu-Tech, English and Geography." Luigi replied, opening the fridge to get his own can of pop.
"Wow, we've got 1st and 4th together. Nice." Mario said, tossing the white sheet atop the others. So what's for 2nd?"
"Don't care as of now." Luigi said. He sat down at the end of the couch, making Mario sit up. They sit in silence for a few minutes, watching a 1970's sitcom.
"Sooo," Luigi tried to say, "Link back from his relatives in Hyrule City?"
"No." Mario said, looked at the clock.
"What time?"
"One."
Luigi grumbles and turns around. The day's were getting cooler, and they've done everything they could. Both brothers, without their full moustaches listened to the rain pouring over the house. The final week is always the longest of summer.
By tomorrow the rain had cleared up, however the clouds covered the sunlight. Along a major road, a black minivan roared through a puddle and down the never ending road.
"Okay," Mario and Luigi's mom, Sandra firmly stated, "Remember to only get the supplies you NEED."
"Like the time you gave Mario 10 bucks and he came back with over 50 erasers." Luigi stated, with a proud grin on his face.
Their mom took a deep sigh, "Yes. Like that."
Mario was someone who when was insulted needed to get even, "Luigi, remember the time you called into an outlet store in Conrin and bought all those bumper stickers."
"No Mario, I do not." Luigi said still delighted. He won this round.
The black minivan rolled into the parking lot at Flor-Mart. The place was not to crowded, as this was the day before they would release the deals for school supplies. Mario and Luigi immediately got out of the car and charged to the entrance. With their trusty cart, they nearly cleaned out aisles. Around the toy section, they crashed into another reckless cart. In all coincidence, it turned out to be their back neighbours, Pikachu and Pichu.
"You guys crazy shopping too?" Pichu asked, actually being in the cart.
"Hell yeah!" Luigi said, "What, what are those?"
The wall here was dedicated to the "Toy of the Week", usually some lame toy no one would buy otherwise. This week were called "Scouters". Little machines with a red eye piece, which could tell you someone's "Power Level". They actually just gave you a random number."
"I wanna try something." Luigi said.
He took one off the shelve. These were used in a popular movie for 10 year olds called "Dragallz", which Mario and friends went to go see for laughs.
"IT'S OVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEERRRRR NNNNNNNNNIIIIIIIINNNNNNNEEEEE !" Luigi shouted, breaking the plastic toy. He repeated until every toy was broken.
"We should flee." Mario suggested.
"Indeed." Pikachu said, and they flee.
School was to begin in two days. Luigi suggested that everyone could gather at the old wooden fort in the woodlot. The Mario Bros, along with Link, Peach, Pikachu, Bowser and Kirby had all built the fort in Grade 2. After almost 6 years, the wood was peeling, and the back of it had fallen off and laid on the ground. The area around the fort was stained with glue and paint. Along time ago, the 7 had fended off from Captain Falcon and his friends, which ended up both sides using paintball guns and water balloons.
"Good times." Link pondered as they approached the wooden wreck.
"Okay, let's see who can still get into this place." Kirby sarcastically remarked. But only him and Pikachu barely could fit inside. The others were too big.
"Luigi, why'd you call us down here?" Peach asked.
"We've call claimed to be the best pack of friends all through elementary school, right?" Luigi asked everyone.
"Damn true, my boy." Link said jokingly.
"But this is actually the first time we've all gathered in a group since June." Mario said, which put everyone into thought.
"...yeah." Bowser stated, "Come to think of it, it is."
"Well, our schedules came not to long ago, what'd you all get?" Luigi asked everyone.
"I've got Science, Math, Woodshop and History to start." Link said.
"I'm in your Science and Woodshop class, then." Mario answered, "Oh I'm all academic."
"Yeah I'm in your Woodshop class too." Bowser said, pulling out the schedule from his shell pocket.
"Academic is hard." Pikachu exclaimed, "I'm in all applied, so I can play video games every night when having no homework."
"Ninth grade is pretty easy on homework." Mario said.
"Mrs. Shemister wasn't easy." Luigi laughed, "We got at least 2 hours of homework a day."
"Mrs. Shemister wasn't a 'Mrs' technically." Bowser joked, "After we heard about it I called her 'Mr.'."
The woodlot was in silence for a whole 2 minutes.
"Someone say something please." Bowser finally said.
"Let's all make fun of the female without the" Peach started, but was stopped cold by a loud "NO" like sound from Link.
"Anyways, I gotta be at home for 9." Link said, "My parents want me to pack my things for tonight because tomorrow we have an art show or something to go to up in Metropedia."
"It's only 8:20" Luigi said looking at his watch, but Link was already leaving.
"Speaking of it, we all should go home now." Kirby said.
"Yeah, see you says Tuesday." Mario said, as they all went their separate ways.
The summer air fades in September into a cool, fall breeze. The woodlot where their history was would be taken down this winter to make room for more housing. This meant the fort they built would be gone. History and memories would be taken away. In High School, they'd all go in as close friends.
But the exit would give a wrecked connection.
