Local/Online Multiplayer

Online would be VERY nice! I'm almost absolutely sure it will have local multiplayer, because Mario Party DS had it.
Sadly, no one near me has a 3Ds. D:

I think its safe to say everyone wants online multiplayer because there is not a reason to exclude it from Mario Party or any multiplayer game(especially if someone don't have anyone to play it with like me), If anything it should only be excluded for single player games maybe.

I have to say that I have the same reason, I would really like to be able to play with some players because of how I don't have much the ability to play with multiple players and that I usually like to be able to play with human players regularly. (If someone actually doesn't want it I'm pretty sure it's for security reasons or stuffs like that or just that they doesn't like the idea.)

I say if Fortune Street had online, this can. They're kind of similar games,  I don't see it being difficult to incorporate an online mode into this game. Only thing I'm wondering about is if someone quits, will it stop the game for everyone?

Unless they are replaced by computer players? I know Fortune Street does that but sometimes the game seems to stop even this way though. I guess this way could be possible but I guess there won't be online at this point... But I still have hope though.

Well, there's still no confirmation of it. If the box-art is the real deal, then there's definitely no online because there isn't the Nintendo Network logo for it. Mario Kart 7 was an exception since it was out before the Nintendo Network logo was shown.

There's drawbacks yeah, but there's tons of positives. I mean, if Fortune Street can have boards on Wi-Fi (which usually a game of FS is like 1 hour...), then I'm sure Mario Party could have it too. The only thing is like what H-J said, with lag, there might be some problem with mini-game reaction times.

Confirmed that there will be download play, but there will not be online play. This was expected since we never have the Nintendo Network logo.

I don't really see any point in buying this game then.

There's nobody around here with a 3DS, so Local Multiplayer is no option for me. And for those who think that this game would take too long when playing online: Fortune Street also features long sessions, and nobody is forced to play it online if they don't want to spend so much time...

No. There's StreetPass battles where you battle your opponents (they are shadow versions). And there's download play for up to four players, with one game card needed. That's local play, not online. No online whatsoever.
