20. Magic Man

This Robot Master puts Top Man to shame. He has a marvelous design and a very fun stage. The fight is also very fun, testing reaction times to his attacks. His weapon, the Magic Card, is a show to behold that can fire up or across and grab items.

19. Hornet Man

Ah, MM9. The Robot Masters are all at least good. In fact, the first one on this list, Hornet Man, made the Top 20. His design is neat in that he has a stinger on his head and a honeycomb torso. His stage is rather pretty, with a garden theme and great music. The fight is simple; fire Hornet Chasers, then rush across the area. The Hornet Chaser is a great weapon that homes in on enemies and can pick up powerups.

18. Knight Man

We come to our last stop in our tour around the world: England. Welcome to the Capital of Science, where Knight Man's solid design and stage await. The fight is one enjoyable fight. You can pierce his shield with the Y-Spear, but why not fight a knight with honor? His weapon, the Knight Crush, is excellent, having lots of power and returning to you.

16. Jewel Man

Shiny! Jewel Man has one brilliant design and a lustrous stage with swinging platforms. The fight is simple, and the Black Hole Bomb breaks him. With his weapon, the Jewel Satellite, you can reflect projectiles and damage enemies, and it can be fired. Now that's fabulous!

15. Fire Man

The Flame of Justice is one awesome Robot Master. His design is nice, and his stage fits his theme quite well, with various fire traps. The fight is simple if you know his pattern. His weapon, the Fire Storm, is a great weapon, serving as a projectile and a shield. In Mega Man Powered Up, he has a Texan accent and a personality of a Wild West sheriff. The Flame of Justice burns with fiery passion!

Blademansp.png

14. Blade Man

My favorite MM10 Robot Master. His design is sharp, with three blades on his body and arms. His stage is nice, with pinwheel platforms and a castle miniboss. The fight with Blade Man is easy, yet enjoyable. His weapon, the Triple Blade, is amazing, with wide range.

12. Cut Man

The first Robot Master ever, Cut Man is a classic. His stage is the premier opening stage to many players. The fight is very easy since he flinches when hit. His weapon, the Rolling Cutter, can be useful at times due to being a boomerang-like weapon. His gameplay in Powered Up is similar to X with wall jumps. His childlike personality is rather humorous.

11. Napalm Man

Napalm Man is an interesting Robot Master. He is filled with so many explosions that me might as well be Michael Bay's walking dynamite storage unit. He was created by Dr. Wily to protect his secret weapons factory, where he would spend his spare time collecting and searching for weapons as strong or stronger than his own. He's a wepons enthusiast. His design has wepons all over his body, with a jet turbine in his head and treadmills in his legs. In fact, he built his own weapons museum, which eventually got blown up! His stage is interesting, based on a military base. For someone like Napalm Man, shouldn't this healthy environment be, well, I dunno, blown up? This stage may be based on Vietnam, which is evident in the jungle setting, tigers, and the fact that napalm was used in the Vietnam War. The fight is easy with dodging missiles and Napalm Bombs. The Napalm Bomb is a grenade. At least it doesn't turn on when you get hit by it, GRENADE MAN! Overall, Napalm Man is an interesting Robot Master. Just don't put him in a Michael Bay movie. It will suck horribly.

10. Galaxy Man

This UFO is designed to calculate rocket trajectories. His stage has interesting gimmicks and enemies like teleporters. The fight is pretty fun, though pretty easy. His wepon, the Black Hole Bomb, sucks any weak enemy and projectile. Overall, my second-favorite from MM9.

9. Metal Man

Oh I can hear you Metal Man fanboys out there fuming with rage because he's only #9. But before you come at me with your torches and pitchforks, let me state my case as to why Metal Man is a bit overrated. First, the positives. Metal Man has an intimidating appearance. His stage is awesome as well, with conveyor belts everywhere. The fight is great as well, with the conveyor belt making up for a good challenge. Now for what everyone knows him for: the Metal Blade. This is actually the reason he isn't ranked any higher. Allow me to sum it up. Think of Meta Knight, Kyogre, and the Red Monster wheels. Those things are balanced compared to how utterly broken the Metal Blade is. Thus thing takes out so many enemies, it isn't even funny, so why the f

are the other weapons even there? Heck, FOUR bosses are destroyed by these things, including Metal Man himself, who is already crippled with no conveyor! Sorry, Metal Man, but you just can't get any higher when your own weapon breaks a game!

Elecsprite.png

7. Elec Man

The strongest MM1 Robot Master with an awesome design and stage. In fact, the Magnet Beam is in here! The fight is a test of reflexes or locking him into a pattern. His weapon, the athunder Beam, is amazing. It can fire up, down, and forward. His gameplay in Powered Up is nice with electricity blocks to move around. His personality suits him well, being a narcissist. And his music is awesome.

6. Tengu Man

My favorite Robot Master from both MM8 and MM&B. His concept is based on the tengu, a Japanese crow demon. Add that to a jet engine, and you've got one cool design. As for stages, I prefer MM8's. The fights are solid in both games, testing your ability of sliding. He fives you both Tornado Hold and Tengu Blade. His Saturn theme is amazing.

3. Shadow Man

My favorite Robot Master from MM3. Just by looking at Shadow Man's design, you know he means business. His stage seems to test ninja reflexes by having various enemies all over the place. The fight seems to test ninja reflexes as well, testing your ability to dodge Shadow Blades and slides. His weapon, the Shadow Blade, is a Metal Blade that isn't broken. And let me remind you that he's a f

ing ninja! And ninjas are awesome.

Pharaohsprite.png

2. Pharaoh Man

That's right, it's Pharaoh Man, baby! He has a marvelous design of an ancient Egyptian ruler. His stage fits his theme perfectly, with quicksand, descent into the tomb, and the Balloon Adaptor. The fight is solid, testing your reflexes and timing. His weapon, the Pharaoh Shot, is amazing. Ancient Egyptian culture is very interesting. Overall, Pharaoh Man deserves more praise, and anyone who says otherwise is getting a pharaoh punch to the FFFAAACCCEEE!

Wait. That's only #2. Who could be better than Pharaoh Man?

Slash Man had a great design.
Tornado Man had a great fight.
Shadow Man had a great weapon.
Pharaoh Man had great connections.

For a Robot Master to be #1, it has to combine all four of these aspects, and I found one that does. My favorite Robot Master of all time is...

1. Ice Man

Ice Man. Surprised? That's good because Ice Man is hands-down my favorite Robot Master ever in the years that Mega Man has been around, I feel that no single robot has appealed to me more than this eskimo of the arctics. Allow me to explain what I mean. First is his design, and he is so cute that Yoshi would look ugly compared to him. Then there's his stage. Mega Man: Powered Up really showed me a beastly ice stage that tests your skills. Fire Man has an alternate challenge for himself. His fight is simple in the original but not in Powered Up. Powered Up adds giant icicles falling from the ceiling! His weapon, the Ice Slasher, freezes enemies on contact. his gameplay in Powered Up is great, creating new platforms using frozen enemies. His personality is great as well, being two personalities: a general and a soldier. Finally, the main reason why I like Ice Man so much is his connections. ice has always been one of my favorite elements in media. Cirno, the Ice Climbers, the Crystal King, Jynx, you name it! His great design, his brilliant stage, his well-played fight, his useful weapon, his interesting personality, his impressive gameplay, and the overall interest in ice are the reasons why Ice Man is #1.
