Red Monsters

Okay, what are red monsters?
The wheels I use in that game.

Amazing offroad and great top speed boost.
All monster tires have been used to abuse shortcuts normally requiring mushrooms (N64 Kalamari Desert is a course that has these)
They also tend to suck underwater. (I have a counter to that myself)

Red Monster Tires themself have best acceleration out of the two monster tires.

Jinx seems to hate those over the Blue Monster Tires for some reason, though... :p

22. DS Luigi's Mansion

Way to mess up a DS track in a remake, Nintendo. Glider AND Red Monster sections? At least drifting is more important here than any of the previous tracks.

KoopaTroopaBeachMK7.png

18. N64 Koopa Beach

We're moving to the good tracks now. This track starts with a couple of turns, then continues with a ramp, then the glider shortcut which can be taken by using a mushroom before the ramp. After the shortcut, there is another glider ramp to grab a coin, and finally you can either go underwater for some coins or trick on the ramps. The scenery and music are rather nice.

DKJungle.png

17. DK Jungle

One good Special Cup track. The track starts with a couple of turns followed by ramps and Tiki Goons. Then there is a glider ramp after the bridge which skips more ramps. After some more turns is another glider ramp, then the track ends with another ramp. This course has nice scenery and remix of the main theme from DKC.

Wii_Coconut_Mall.png

16. Wii Coconut Mall

The first of the tracks that improved from MKW. The track starts with some stairs that can be tricked on, then continues on the escalators that can be tricked on the end. After the escalators is the shortcut through the hallway leading to a ramp. Then there are bumps with coins and boost panels on both sides. Then there is a split path with a boost panel, though the upper path is faster. After the glider ramp there are boost panels with cars before the process repeats. This course has some nice scenery, and finally I could listen to the music without that tingling feeling that someone's gonna glitch.

BowserCastleMK7.png

15. Bowser's Castle

The track starts of with a glider ramp followed by two mesas with ramps on each side. Then there is a split path followed by a ramp. Then there are coins on the outside and a ramp on the inside, followed by another split path. Then there is the underwater section with a ramp. The track ends with another glider ramp. This track has nice scenery and music.

MariocircuitMK7.png

14. Mario Circuit

This track starts with a few turns with coins followed by a ramp with a single coin, then a shortcut through the grass. Then the track continues with a ramp and a mushroom followed by more ramps offroad. After the spiral there is a glider ramp followed by a single ramp with a coin. The track ends with a bump with coins. The music, scenery, clean areas, and overall enjoyment are way better than MKW's glitchy figure-8.

MapleTreewayMK7.png

13. Wii Maple Treeway

Another improved track from MKW. This track starts with a split path with the outer route having offroad. After the paths merge there is a glider ramp. Then there are leaf piles with items in them along with some Wigglers. Then there are two boost panels followed by ramps. After the second glider ramp there is another split path, though taking the hills with ramps is faster. This track has improved through glitch removal and better physics to make it enjoyable along with its music and scenery.

DaisyCruiserMK7.png

12. GCN Daisy Cruiser

One good GCN remake. The track starts with a split path, though the brown path is faster. Then there is a pool with some coins. After the tables is another split path, though staying on deck is faster. The track ends with stairs with a trick spot at the end. This track has nice scenery and music.

Oh first courses, why are you so bland and generic? Why can't Nintendo make any good first course?
MKDS_Mario_Circuit_1.PNG

Meh.

Eh.
Figure-eight_Circuit.PNG

It's not bad, I guess...

OK, I'm getting sick of this.
Wait, Mario Kart 7 is out? Well, might as well take a look at its first course.
Toad_Circuit.png

10. Toad Circuit

HOLY MUK-SMACKING SMEARGLES. Now THAT'S how you make a good first course. This track has incredible designs and an even more incredible racing layout. MK7 came along and said, "Let's blow their mind, add some amazing design choices, make it a first track, and BAM! That's Toad Circuit." The track starts with a turn with coins along the way, then continues with a boost panel set, then ends with a shortcut through the ramp, dirt, and pipes. Take note Nintendo, I now expect better first tracks from here on out. With its awesome design, ingenious music, and its amazing layout, Toad Circuit is hands-down my favorite Mushroom Cup track, as well as my all-time favorite first track. I have very little to argue against it, but Toad Circuit is simply stunning. Bravo MK7, bravo I say.

#9
MushroomGorgeMK7.png

9. Wii Mushroom Gorge

This track is the ultimate improvement from the original MKW track considering that the original was #30 on the Top 32 MKW Tracks list. The track starts with a few turns leading to a ramp and a mushroom, then continues to a split path, though the path with the mushrooms is faster. After another turn is another split path, though the path leading to the blue glider mushroom is faster. There is a shortcut taken by using a mushroom before the gap while on the glider, similar to the original gap jump. Where Koopa Cape went from amazing to atrocious, the fixing of the glitch and the physics makes this track from atrocious to amazing.

8. Piranha Plant Slide

The Star Cup tracks (aside from Maka Wuhu) are very strong in this game. This track starts with ramp into a water slide. The track then continues with a current with a ramp with coins in the middle. After a turn is another ramp leading to some floating blocks with coins, then two pipes with more coins. Another underwater section contains pipes and currents before a glider ramp. Before the track ends there is a shortcut through the bush. This track has nice scenery and music.

#7
RainbowroadMK7.png

7. Rainbow Road

The ultimate finishing track gets a huge makeover in MK7. The track starts with a few turns followed by ramps with coins. The track continues down a spiral with some more coins before heading to a ramp and a mushroom. After that is a wavy section with more coins before section 2 starts. Section 2 starts with a turn followed by a glider ramp. There is a shortcut taken by diving down with a mushroom then rising back up with another mushroom, allowing for a tighter turn around the planet. After landing there are boost panels and more coins. Then there is another glider ramp with a shortcut taken by using a mushroom while gliding over the ring straight into the second set of boost panels after the Launch Star. Then there is another wavy section before landing on the moon that has craters that can be tricked on. The final section starts with a set of boost panels followed by a ramp into the cylinder with more boost panels. At the end of the cylinder are normal ramps and glider ramps. Then there are ramps and Launch Stars scattered throughout. There is another shortcut taking by drifting over the final chasm when near the red-and-white stripes. This track has brilliant scenery, incredible design and layout, very high skill expectation, and my favorite MK7 music. Take notes, Wii Rainbow Road. 3DS Rainbow Road is hands-down my favorite Rainbow Road ever. An amazing first course and an amazing Rainbow Road. Nintendo just outdid itself again.
