3. Scizor

This Pokemon. This Pokemon is the undefeated king of insects. Scizor is my favorite Bug-type, Steel-type, and GSC Pokemon. Scizor is one of the coolest-looking Pokemon ever! That head, those eyes, those wings, those awesome pincers... NGH! As for battling, it has a BST of 500, Technician, and an amazing movepool with U-Turn, Superpower, Bullet Punch, Pursuit, Swords Dance, Bug Bite, Roost, and Brick Break. Despite having the exact same BST as Scyther, it's still better. Scizor has better Attack and Defense in exchange for... less speed. Not that Speed is useless, but it isn't as important. Bug/Steel is also better than Bug/Flying, with more resistances and the only weakness being Fire. Now that's one tough mantis. Scizor's Attack reaches a maximum of 394. Genesect, beat that.
WARNING: JINX LOSES SANITY
Hey wasn't it awesome when Scizor posed like Red Lightning with that awesome cloak? YEA... Hey, isn't it neat that you can teach your Scizor Bullet Punch and punch through everything? NGH! Hey, wasn't it the best getting Bug Bite and like, trashing out Celebi, like in one hit? Just BAM, f

2. Darkrai

This pitch-black demon from Sinnoh is my favorite DPP Pokemon. First, concept. Darkrai is a shadow-like being capable of giving nightmares to anyone that comes in contact with its Dark Void. Wow. With a BST of 600 (135 of that being Special Attack, the highest of all Dark-types), Bad Dreams, and an impressive movepool of Dark Void, Dark Pulse, Focus Blast, Nasty Plot, Substitute, Trick, and Thunder Wave. Its Special Attack rivals Porygon-Z, and its Speed beats even Weavile! Furthermore, Bad Dreams drains your health on every turn you are asleep. If you're asleep, you lose.
Finally, the main reason why I like Darkrai so much is its development in the Rise of Darkrai. Throughout the movie, Darkrai was mistaken as being a villain, even though he meant no harm. It was first found injured by Alicia, who healed it with a melody called Oracion. When the fight between Dialga and Palkia came to Alamos Town, the entire town started to disintegrate. Darkrai sacrificed itself to stop the fight between Dialga and Palkia to protect Alamos Town. That right there is one sacrifice that really turned up emotion.

But wait. That is only #2. Now here is the ultimate question: What is my favorite Pokemon ever? If it's not Darkrai, then what in the world could it be?

For a Pokemon to be #1 on this gargantuan list, it has to combine all four of these aspects, and I found one that does. Who's that Pokemon?

1. Meloetta

Meloetta. Surprised? I'm sure some of you are. I've been keeping this as surprise for so long, but now I can finally say that Meloetta is my favorite Pokemon EVER. This miniature, charming singer has appealed to me more than any other Pokemon to date. So why is Meloetta my favorite? Let's start with origins: Meloetta is based on a singer, a treble clef, a ballerina, and a muse, a mythological entity to whom was attributed, in Ancient Greece, the ability to inspire artistic creation. It is said that Meloetta's songs have the power to control feelings. No wonder Relic Song sounds so emotional.
As for design, all I have to say is: She looks cuter than Ampharos and Pikachu combined!
Next, we have battle capabilities. Meloetta has a BST of 600 and Serene Grace. Her Pirouette Form has a unique typing, Normal/Fighting. In fact, Meloetta has two of my favorite Pokemon types: Psychic and Fighting. Her Aria Form has higher special stats, while Pirouette Form has higher physical stats and Speed. Aria Form's Special Attack and Special Defense is 128, beating Reuniclus, Rotom, and even Keldeo. Her Pirouette Form's Attack and Speed are 128. This beats even Shaymin! Her movepool is gargantuan, with moves like Close Combat, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Hidden Power, Perish Song, Psyshock, Thunder Wave, U-Turn, Focus Blast, Calm Mind, and Shadow Ball. She also has a signature move, Relic Song, which allows her to change forms. If you don't have a bulky Psychic-type, a fast physical attacker, a priority user, Chansey, or Blissey, then once she uses Relic Song, you are absolutely screwed.
Lastly, the main reason why I came to like Meloetta so much. It was her role in Unova's Survival Crisis. Meloetta was the guardian of the Reveal Glass, a mysterious glass that can change the kami trio between Incarnate and Therian forms. When people wanted to use the Reveal Glass for power, Meloetta sealed the Glass and fled to the forest, where she lived in peace, until Team Rocket sought to capture her. She eventually met Ash and his friends after he saved her from being hurt by falling tools. She was injured by another of Team Rocket's attempts to capture her, and Ash and Cynthia healed her. When she was captured by Team Rocket after the events of the Junior Cup, Giovanni used Meloetta's Relic Song to unseal the Reveal Glass and summon the kami trio in their Therian forms, who were used against Ash and his friends. Meloetta, not wanting to lose her close friends, used up her energy to calm the trio down, although getting hurt in the process.
Let me get this straight. One Pokemon that is close friends with someone that saved her, risked her life to save him from three powerful legendary Pokemon, two of them being Ubers. That shows how deep Meloetta is for a Pokemon. Similar to Darkrai, this shows that Pokemon can have human feelings, spirit, and integrity. Those are the reasons why Meloetta is my favorite Pokemon of all time. It's not because she's powerful. It's because she is one developed Pokemon that shows her emotional aspects rather than just her power. Some of you may think this is beyond corny, but this is no exaggeration. I truly feel this way. Some people believe that Pokemon is not supposed to be deep in any sense, but after learning about Meloetta's hard backstory, I don't see why not. Meloetta's actions are unlike any other character I've seen in any form of media. She changed my outlook on Pokemon ever since this event, but also part of life itself. She means a lot to my media life, showing me that even something nore than commonly seen as a fighting tool can in fact be beautifully deep piece of art, and that is something no other Pokemon or figure can ever replicate. She's one original, powerful, memorable Pokemon for her Relic Song and all of her valiant deeds. I am Jinx, and Meloetta is, by far, my favorite Pokemon ever. She is more than a Pokemon. She's a hero. She's my hero.
