Jack Bros. Game Sample - Virtual Boy
Jack Bros is a dungeon crawler similar to games like Gauntlet. The objective of the game is to complete the level before time runs out. At the beginning of the game, you have three characters to choose from. Jack Frost, Jack Lantern (Pyro Jack in America) and Jack the Ripper (Jack Skelton.) Each have a unique attack style. The plot of the game is that every year on halloween, the realm of fairies opens to the human world, and the Jack Brothers have to get back home before midnight. If they don't, they will be banished forever from the fairy realm (which is changed to disappearing in the US release.)
This game is the one that introduced me to the Shin Megami Tensei series (as has much talk from a friend of mine, hehehe.) Aside from the obvious (terribad color scheme) i have to say this is a really fun little platformer. Tough, sure, but still fun. Sucks it had to be released on a really obscure and crappy console.
