Okay so my parents are considering getting me a PS3 for my birthday. With the PS4 coming out in a year, is it worth the value?
Is the PS3 still worth getting?

How much does it cost right now?

About $300-400, depending on which size HDD. I bought mine last year for $300; the price really doesn't move much.
Isn't it still at $299?cookieboy17 said:
Yes, buy it. I still play mine and it is good cuz online is free.
If you wanna save 100 bucks get an xbox.MattC13 said:

But anyways, who's to say the Ps4 is coming out in a year? The Ps4 probably won't come out for another 3
There was a deal for PowerUp Reward members(Gamestop thing) where you could save 100$ on a PS3. But it ended already. :/ Which sucks.
Yes, get it. The PS4 may come, but not right now. And if you save $100 for a Xbox, you probably pay that $100 for online... I do not own a Xbox, so I may be wrong, but anyways...
I'd maybe wait and see if you can find a better deal. I got a $100 Wal-Mart giftcard when I bought my PS3 (granted it was around Christmas time). But still, that was essentially like getting it for $200 because Wal-Mart credit is as good as cash.
Wait after E3 to see if anything is announced for PS4.
Too bad that'll be too late.Justin5267 said:
Why? Or how? I don't see how it could be too late, considering your birthday is June 13 and Sony's conference for E3 is June 6, a week difference.MattC13 said:
Personally, I think you should wait. PS3 had just recently went through a rough time with PlayStation Network.
Just wait till you find a deal. I remember amazon randomly having free $100 credit with the purchase of a PS3 at times. I can confirm that the PS4 won't be announced till 2012.
Just get a Ps3, if you can. Look at the pros and cons of them making a new system
Pros:
Cons:
More money into developing a new system
New software is not needed, as no game has truly met the Ps3's limits.

Knowing my parents it will be bought before the 6th. And isn't the conference on the 7th?Vipsoccermaster said:

No, Sony's Conference is at 5:00 PM PDT on June 6. Nintendo has theirs on June 7 at 9:00 AM PDT. That's 8:00 PM EDT and 12:00 PM Noon EDT, respectively.MattC13 said:

lol
Get a PS3, there's a Cawa Dootie African American Missions bundle for $300 or something.
OR if you don't like Cawa Dootie, there's a PS MOVE Bundle.

What time is the Sony conference in Sri Lanka? You know, just in case I'm there & wanna watch.
