Last summer, I was walking near a house when I saw smoke coming out of the window. 2 minutes after that, the fire brigade came and put out the fire.

i'm pretty sure there is one house down the street from me back home that has caught fire more than once. a lot of people gathered to watch the firefighters put it out. it wasn't anything crazy really.
edit: when i was younger and living in a different city a house down the street got gutted by a fire. just remembered that, it was pretty scary when you're 6.

I already heard about some which happenned nearby, but I really only saw one fire, it was a church roof which took in flames some years ago from now and I saw that from my own eyes because a fair number of people went nearby to see this, it was pretty big.
There was a house one block over that got gutted by a fire, but I only really saw the rising smoke from afar.
