I never get grounded from s***.
I sometimes can go for days/weeks without touching my Wii and PS3, but I can't go one day without touching a handheld like my DS/PSP since it became a daily habit. =P
I wouldn't say I go through periods of not playing video games AT ALL, with the exception of when I'm on vacation. Even then, I do have my DS which I end up pulling out from time to time. Though just over a month ago, there came a time where I went a full week playing maybe 5 hours total in the entire week. That's much less than usual for me.
Sometimes I won't for week for trips and when I'm really busy, otherwise I almost play something everyday.
Only when I go on trips like when I went to Japan. But I sometimes do for a few days but not very often.
I've managed 12 days without touching anything altogether (when I was at NYSF), and I tend not to touch my Wii for extended periods of time (on the order of weeks, has been a month or two before)
Re DS, I've done without it whenever it ran out of battery and I didn't have the charger readily accessible - that happened for almost 6 months I think. =P

I've gone months without (I'm just not much of a gamer), but I hope to get back into it and play some oldschool PSX (my all-time favorite console) games.
Also I didn't know people still got grounded. Is this the 50's?
