...you know, I now remember reading somewhere in an older Nintendo Power Magazine about a new Fire Emblem for the 3DS coming out in Japan... perhap this was that game they were talking about?

This is an original game. Your probably thinking of Fire Emblem: Shin Monshō no Nazo: Hikari to Kage no Eiyū, which is a remake for the DS that never made it's way to NA.

Just pre-ordered this game. Looks exciting so far and very much willing to try out the game for the first time in the series (and something totally different).

The digital version of this game will take up 8,579 blocks of space. Also, the bundle will run you $200. It also has the 4GB SD Card in it.

Just got the game today, even if it's set to be released in about... a week from now ;D
It's good so far, but all I've really done was go through the levels in the prologue and 1st chapter which was in the demo, as well as an additional chapter that's played before any of these chapters.
Might play some more of it soon.

You also "get" Marth to play as throughout your game when you complete this.
