Eversion. The twisted tale of a cute little flower critter on his quest to save his princess while warping the fabric of reality around him, releasing dozens of nameless horrorterrors from the broken realities and driving himself mad, his power eventually leading to both the flower critter's and the princess' transformations into eldritch abominations. It's a nice little puzzle/platformer/survival horror game.

Bastion. That fantastic story-telling and unique gameplay blew me away. It had awesome music too.
I played the demo and I loved it! I got it during the Holiday Steam deals and now it's sitting in my backlog. :p

Haven't heard of Eversion and Machinarium.
Machinarium you play as a robot trying to save what I think is your girlfriend, my game design teacher bought it and let the whole class play, it's lengthy enough to be a good game.

Eversion is kind of a platformer with the gameplay revolving around "Eversing" to different worlds (Like World -2 is the farthest you can go in the first level, and so on) to grab the gems and net yourself the (rather creepy) good ending. It's pretty cutesy at first, but it gets somewhat disturbing at around World X-4 and later. One prank involving the game is to send the game to a friend and tell them it's an adorable kid's platformer.
