Another favorite topic by me! :T Err...
The Mario series has been growing for the past 30 years, with new elements being introduced every game to keep it fresh. One of those elements are power-ups. We have the classic Mushrooms and Fire Flowers as well as unique ones like the Mega Mushroom, Penguin Suit, and others. This series being a long-runner, there was bound to be some power-ups that would be forgotten by Nintendo because somehow they didn't appeal them too much or they couldn't think of a way to implement them in another game again. It's a shame, since some of these power-ups are actually really good. This brings up a question: Which forgotten power-up do you like the most?
I would have to go with the Hammer Suit from SMB3. Hammer Bros. can sometimes be a pain with their hammers, so I was really glad to make them pay back! Plus you get a bonus with the shell it has, as it can protect you from fireballs. Don't get me wrong, I like the Boomerang power-up from SM3DL, but... it feels lacking, somehow.
I also like the Blue Shell from NSMB. If only it could go faster...
