I made this topic to have people discuss what they think about playing ordinary ds games on the 3DS. Some people say it's really blurry but I think it's just fine. I've been playing Super Mario 64 DS on my 3DS because I wanted to play it with a joystick and it works very well. As far as I know, nothing is negatively affected in the game itself. If you hold select, you can play the game without any blurriness. However, it makes both screens very small and that is a huge distraction to me.

There's no difference. It's better as you can use the joystick.
Looks fine without the small screen, and the circle pad is better for games like Super Mario 64 DS. But games like Pokemon not so much.
It's fine, but with DS games that have large amounts of aliasing and not making DS games to oiginal aspect ratio, they do look pretty bad.
I thought exactly the same thing since DS games appear more blurry than normal. LUCKILY if you hold start and select while you boot a DS game it turns into 2 tiny screens which makes games less pixely and blurry than they do on a normal DS like this picture for example.madstarr said:
I see nothing wrong with that. I don't own a 3DS, but it's something I do all the time for PSP compilation games (Capcom Classics, Midway Arcade, etc.) or something I even did for the GBA while playing GB/GBC games. I don't think you even had a choice for the DS while playing GBA games (just 'small' on default).

I'm sure my cousin and family have one though. I'll see it/play it eventually He graduates in June so I'm sure there will be something to do afterward.
