Starting with Reviews now. I'm moving on up! I guess. Anyway I'll start with a big one, Super Mario Galaxy 1.
Story: :star: :star:
The story is overdone a bit, and by overdone, I mean over-recycled. Bowser kidnaps Peach. Mario fights Bowser. Mario rescues Peach. Not very innovative, but involving Rosalina's troubles is a nice touch.
Gameplay: :star: :star: :star: :star:
The gameplay is very good. The Fire Flower makes its first 3D Mario appearance in this game. The gravity concept is also grand. The spin is also well incorporated and used. The only problem I find is the Boo Suit. Its too bulky and hard to control. Why did they bring it back in SMG2? Another problem is the Co-op mode. Although it makes the game slightly easier, all it does is make a second coursor appear. It's more innovative in SMG2 where the Co-Star Luma was invented.
Music: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:
The Music in this game is fantastic. The Super Mario Galaxy Orchestra really got the job done with some amazing music. Especially in Gusty Garden and Battlerock.
Design: :star: :star: :star: :star:
Another strong point about this game is the design. Most levels are well designed. Gotta love the Melty Molten Galaxy and Flipswitch Galaxy. The design of the levels and power-ups are great for the Wii console, but there's just a tiny room for improvement.
Difficulty: :star: :star: :star:
The game is average in terms of difficulty. Hard-core fans of the Mario series and people just getting into it alike will have no trouble with this game. It gets hard near the end of the game, so it can frustrate players, also players going for 120 stars will be sitting at the couch for a bit since getting all of them will take many lives and hours of gameplay. Especially the Purple Coin missions.
Overall Rating: 18 :star: of 20 :star: Or 4.5 out of 5.
Good Points: Amazing design and music.
Bad Points: Limited Co-op. Boo Suit is hard to control. Story is over-used.
