GameCube Tech Demo Shows Banjo Threeie in Action

What could have been...

N64 adventures Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo Tooie made plenty of fans back in their 64-bit heyday, but they never appeared on the GameCube. A threequel was planned but never released, but now unreleased game-finders par excellence Unseen 64 have posted a short video of the project.

Shown off at Spaceworld 2000 before the GameCube's release, the video is only a short tech demonstration of what the finished game could have looked like. The cancellation of Banjo and Kazooie's third outing on a Nintendo home console might draw a few tears, but just makes a better case for why Nintendo and Rare should reunite.

If the Microsoft buyout didn't happen, I would have loved to see this happen. But it didn't. But Banjo-Threeie on 3DS? I doubt it. Sort of a reason why Rare should go back to Nintendo with these kind of plat-formers, but since Rare sucks now... I'm sure this game would have been a masterpiece.

IMO, overdoing postquels in any series kills them off. This sounds close to it. And "Threeie"? What a random title. The images show nothing amazing from what I see. (Looks overfilled with... stuff. >>)

Cite the date of article please.

And please, no more Ninty-Rare reunion bs. ><

The main antagonist, Grunty, said at the end of Banjo-Tooie that she would have her revenge in "Banjo-Threeie", hence the name.
