Autumnal Equinox

[kingboo]

Ok, tommorows the Autumnal Equinox! 12 hours of day, and night!
I already see trees leaves changing colors!
Well I hate now it's going to be less day.

Isn't this the day the aztec pyramid make the snake shadow or when no shadow appears.

[Ether]

I miss the summer already. It's getting chilly during the day already. Oh well.

Vernal Equinox over here, it seems.

I don't really pay much attention to the 'minor' Equinoxes as much as the 'major' ones.

Just on a side note, why do the Equinoxes occur around the 20th~23rd of March/June/September/December? Is it the moon's cycle falling in sync with the calendar?

[Vipsoccermaster]

Autumnal Equinox will occur Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at 21:18 UTC.

H-J, they change throughout the year. I don't know if it's about the lunar cycle, but it might be.

It's usually March 20/21, June 20/21, September 22/23, and December 21/22.

Your English teacher is wrong, it's tomorrow.

??? What's that? I've never heard of that. Please tell me what it is. Is it daylight savings time?

No, it has nothing to do with Daylight Saving Time.

The Autumnal/Vernal Equinox and the Winter/Summer Solstice have nothing to do with Daylight Savings time. The equinoxes and the solstices coincide with the transistions of the season.

Well we're even in terms of days now. I miss summer.

[Vipsoccermaster]

It may be equal in length of day and night, but it varies by location (and sometimes date).

Even though it's autumn now, it's still warm around here for me.

We don't fall back an hour until Sunday, November 1, 2009, at 2:00 AM - YOUR TIME.

I do, too, chap. I do, too. The only way to enjoy summer all year round is if you go to Indonesia or around there.
