It was a showcase years in the making — and it delivered! Today’s Nintendo Direct focused on the Nintendo Switch 2 came with a variety of announcements, including new content headed to Super Mario Party Jamboree, the full unveiling of Mario Kart World, and the announcement of Donkey Kong Bananza.
Most notably, the Nintendo Switch 2 will launch on June 5, 2025. Exciting times!

Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV is a Nintendo Switch 2 Exclusive Version of the base game that adds support for the new system’s voice chat and camera features. The new Bowser Live mode introduces minigames directly controlled by voice and on-camera movements. In the Carnival Coaster mode, mouse controls are used to shoot down enemies and to play mouse-exclusive minigames. The main Mario Party mode is also getting an update where camera reactions can be seen in-game.
No word on any additional content updates like new minigames, boards, or characters. Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on July 24, 2025. Players who own the base game can upgrade through an upgrade pack. A price hasn’t been announced yet.
Mario Kart World breaks boundaries with open world gameplay through a free roam mode that lets you drive freely from track to track. Dozens of brand new characters can be seen in the standard 24-player races, and alternate outfits from Mario Kart Tour are back. Check out rail grinding, a new Knockout Tour mode, a plenty more when the game launches alongside the Nintendo Switch 2 on June 5, 2025.
GameCube titles are coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion app for Nintendo Switch 2 owners! The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and F-Zero GX will launch alongside the new console. Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Strikers, and Luigi’s Mansion were also announced to come to the service at a later date.
A brand new 3D Donkey Kong game is finally here! Take control of the newly redesigned ape in Donkey Kong Bananza, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Smash through walls and break through chunks of the ground in this 3D platformer where you can seemingly terraform anything in your way. Launches on July 17, 2025.
