Minecraft: Wii U Edition Getting Free Super Mario Mash-Up Pack

It’s an interesting day when you find out Nintendo has partnered up with Mojang and Microsoft once again, this time to bring us the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack to the Wii U edition of Minecraft. The free update is set to release on May 17.

This new update will add 40 new character skins and revamped textures all based on the Super Mario series, particularly Super Mario World, Super Mario 64, and Super Mario Sunshine. A pre-made world will also be included for those that would like to see the Mushroom Kingdom in Minecraft form right from get-go. You’ll also be able to listen to 15 different Super Mario 64 tracks as you build your new worlds.

While the new update is set to release on May 17, a retail version of Minecraft: Wii U Edition complete with the Super Mario update will release on June 17 for $29.99.
