0:04 Toadette skyrocketed to hit the tennis ball with fast reach. That’s impressive for a small character like her.

So apparently Nintendo thinks they can raise hype for this game by showing off unlockable characters…and nothing else. Maybe I was wrong about this game. By the way, I got woolly world instead of this.

So two things of interest in this video. As someone said before, Toadette FLEW! or rather did a very interesting dive. Also when Toad belly flopped. (0.16-17)

That same fly/dive animation was also in Mario Tennis Open and they only do that whenever the ball is too far away from them

Normally I would agree with you, but from my recent playthrough, most characters can’t travel half the court like that, except Paratroopa in Mario Power Tennis. Every character has a dive animation, but that was way too much of a distance for Toadette.

True that was too much distance for her but ever since I played Mario Tennis Open I’ve noticed that only the lightweight characters do that dive animation like for example Baby Mario and Baby Peach they clearly did that same thing that Toadette just did in the trailer and I’m like wondering is it because there small that they can do that?

I think Toadette is a good addition to the series (still not interested in the game though).

I’ve actually heard that Toadette is only here since she’s just a re-skin of Toad’s animations… idk where I heard it, and it’s not THAT bad that she’s technically a Clone character. (Since Toadette IS a good addition to the Mario Tennis series) the only problem is, if she really is just a reskin of toad (as in, using the same animations) then that is just lazy on the developer’s parts. Most likely I’m wrong though, since I probably picked it up from a random YT comment…but if it is true, as I, a Pre-Early Alpha Junior developer, say that… Read more »

Well, the main animations seem to be different. Notably, Toad holds his racket sort of over his shoulder, while Toadette holds it in front of her. Still, the two could share the same bones (though Mario and Luigi would too).

If these videos are following a pattern, then we may see a Sprixe Princess Trailer in 3-4 days.

Also, the logo for Birdo’s Japanese name has mysteriously been removed from the sides of the stadium from what I’ve seen.

I’m surprised at how quickly Toadette was revealed after the previous two unlockable characters. I was expecting a week, at least.

Glad to have her and Toad back, but come on Nintendo, aren’t Toad and Toadette an absolute no-brainer when it comes to roster making?
