Nintendo Reveals E3 Digital Event, World Championships, and More

In a similar fashion as last year, Nintendo has revealed their plans for E3 2015. This June, Nintendo will release their newest Digital Event, a streamed news service featuring updates on upcoming titles, developer interviews, and new game announcements. The Treehouse Live event that streamed video coverage all throughout E3 last year is also slated to return, as are the Best Buy playable demos, this time featuring Mario Maker.

New to this E3 is the return of the Nintendo World Championships, a tournament that will see players compete in different challenges from different Nintendo titles. Which games and what challenges will be used have not yet been revealed. Select Best Buy locations will allow fans to participate on May 30, while select winners will move on to the final competition on June 14 in Los Angeles. The final tournament will be streamed live.

Yes I knew it was a joke, I thought it was funny that Reggie did that, I knew it wasn’t true.

Hmm, let’s think about the games that’ll be in the 2015 World Championships.
SM3DW?
Dr. Luigi?
I can’t think of another one.

Tropical Freeze. Make it through a whole level first with Scrooge McDuck.

I think that’d it be halarious if Tanner replaced Bill in the next Nintendo Direct-type thing
Just to show that they remember the joke

I think that Bill should demand his job back in the next Nintendo Direct, Reggie will then say that he will need to Settle it in Smash with Tanner.
The secne will switch to Smash Tanner picks Mario and Bill picks DLC Fighter 3 (First Showing) and wrecks Tanner.

I analysed Last Year’s Digital Event, seeing how it ran, might work in a similar fashion. Not sure whether or not we’ll be getting more or less than 11 games shown off (Teaser not included).

I’m glad Nintendo is sticking to te playfulness that we’ve been seeing for the past year. No doubt it will continue all the way through E3! Excited to see what they think can fill Zelda U’s holiday slot.
