Well this automatically confirms that Dry Bones is not playable in this one but I wonder if there is gonna be another new character for this or is Diddy Kong gonna be the only newcomer.

  • Claudia Mendoza

the box art NEEDS to be a joke. They simply used old artworks!

    • E.Gadd

Kinda sad. Gameplay changes seem fresh and interesting, yet if I was in the store and I knew nothing about this game but saw that lazy reuse of artwork… I’d probably not even pick up the box.

      • replace case image 😛 when you brought it and put new pic of mario and toad 🙂
or naming title “Toad Party: Starring: Mario and Friends”

        • E.Gadd

          lol

    • But i think this is placeholder… just always placeholder…

      • Mario_Comix

I hope it’s a placeholder. After all, they didn’t reveal anything about the game until the livestream, so it’s possible they’re trying to hold back more material for now.

Believe it or not, ND Cube isn’t developing this title. Nintendo EAD is doing it themselves.

    • E.Gadd

      Wow if true.

    • Geo Stelar

they need Hudson Soft back lol

    • SuperZambezi

Very interesting. I’ll be writing about this soon!

    • Welp NDCude is back. @SuperZambezi:disqus

  • Geo Stelar

its sad to see Dry bones as a boss again
he was so good at being playable

  • SuperZambezi

    *ahem* Laaaaaaaaazy box art.

    • MagiKooper

Oh it’s not that bad, i mean it’s not like they just found an old image from a food product brand and put it as the……OH MY GOD!!!

I think this is article worthy XD

      • RafalRib

Make an article for this, this will be the best article on MPL

  • CorrinFTW

This checkered background seems like forgot to add an actual background. (If you ever experienced pixel art or something, you should know what I’m talking about).

  • Ademir

I just hope you can use the amiibo Disy in Mario Party 10. I look forward to an update I am right?.. Please Nintendo

  • Ateles Arma (KINGZ)

    Loving the King Bomb-omb artwork.

  • Cheese Gal

So, I’m guessing that means that dry bones is still unplayable 🙁

  • You know, depending on the file format and how many animations the PCs and NPCs have in Star Rush; I could possibly make DK and Diddy fully playable in MP9 like I am with Boo and Bowser Jr.

  • Black YOSHI ^_^

Is it too much to ask for an old style Mario Party game ! They act like we’re asking something impossible

    • RafalRib

THIS IS THE FUTURE OF MARIO PARTY

      • Black YOSHI ^_^

And that may be the sad truth that we need to accept . Smh .

        • Greninjario

Same goes to Paper Mario. But I’m happy with it.

          • Black YOSHI ^_^

Are you really ? Must don’t know about Old Mario Party & Paper Mario .

          • Greninjario

Oh but I do. I’ve played Mario Party DS (cause that was still Hudson) and halfway through Paper Mario (N64). But I don’t care about the changes. I am legit hyped for them both.

          • RafalRib

Exactly, people need to understand that Nintendo likes to change stuff and not keeping it the same forever

          • Greninjario

Exactly. Nintendo said it themselves they’re theme for the next few years is “Transformation”. Which means changing up a lot. Just look at TLoZ: BotW!

          • MagiKooper

Yeah……but some of those things work. For example Zelda, Pokemon, and of course the beloved Mario and Luigi series.

They’ve changed a few things, sometimes in appearance, sometimes in story, but the core mechanic is still the same. Some changes can be made for the better, like Zelda BOTW, that’s a positive and fantastic change to the Zelda series which I can’t wait to explore.

Now Mario Party, sure they’ve changed the boards and a bit of the layout, but its still got fun mini-games and it’s enjoyable. Now Paper Mario on the other hand………all they’ve kept is the look honestly.

I’m down for them experimenting with Paper Mario, but only if it leads to a positive result, and it’s not that I hate the new mechanic, or the lack of no partners, or level system, it’s the fact that it lacks STORY AND CHARACTER! The Paper Mario games are famous for it’s over the top and dramatic stories and having the most unique characters in any Mario. To remove that, takes away the core mechanic of Paper Mario.

Super Paper Mario, changed allot, they made a different way of battling and it was in a 2D world which had a weird switch to 3D at times, but it still kept a story, a story which i’ve cried too. Now what was Sticker Star story…..Bowser touches a magic crown, gets all powerful, and kidnaps the princess…..and thats it! Soooo original, I mean yeah the first Paper Mario did that, but the first Paper Mario had CHARACTERS! And yes in Paper Mario there were mostly Bowser enemies, like in Color Splash and Sticker Star, but they all had unique personallity and looks and minds of their own. I remember the Koopa Bros, I remember Kammy, Lady Bow, Troopa Jr, Merlon. I remember all the partners name by heart.

In Sticker Star the only characters I remember is Kamek and Wiggler, because there the only ones with interesting and fun personality! Even Bowser, someone who’s known to have the most character and humor in Paper Mario doesn’t have personallity in Sticker Star, he doesn’t even talk!
And the same goes for Color Splash, I mean yeah sure they’ve got the Koopalings, but Sticker Star had Bowser Jr, and he only appeared in the first level, for a out of nowhere boss fight in the boat, and the last level of the game! Really? You got Bowser Jr for the game and you don’t use him to your fullest, I mean Kamek got more time than him, he basically appeared in every world!

It’s just sad the path Paper Mario is going, like I said, if it changes the battle mechanics, Fine. No Partners, ok, no level up system, alright, but for the love of god, bring back what made Paper Mario, Paper Mario. Bring back the interesting stories and the unique characters.

          • Black YOSHI ^_^

Oh . To each his own . I’ll be waiting for more details on both before I decide whether to try them or pass .

        • RafalRib

ITS NOT SAD THIS GAME IS AWESOME

          • Black YOSHI ^_^

It’s very sad for us old school fans . But I can see you new generation fans are why the changes were made in the first place . Smh . The Mario & Luigi series is still good, I’ll give them that .

  • Luigiguy567

Well, their website/fact sheet just states they’re doing it. Mario Party 9, Island Tour, and 10 listed ND Cube as the developer. This game only lists Nintendo.

  • CorrinFTW

So it seems that this boxart image has been seen somewhere else before… http://nintendonews.com/news/3ds/spaghettios-mario-party-star-rush-box-art/

    • MagiKooper

From the laziest box art to the best reuse of product placement. Bravo Nintendo, bravo.

  • Ademir

    Hello,
Thank you for contacting us with your question. We don’t currently have any announced Mario Party 10 compatibility for the second wave of Super Mario amiibo, but keep your eyes on the official amiibo compatibility website as any updates we have on the topic will be found there. I’ve included a link to the page below.
