Our Ruins Cat Shines guide details all 20 Cat Shines in the Ruins area in our Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury walkthrough.
Like the three other main areas in Lake Lapcat, the Ruins area has a total of 20 Cat Shines to find and collect split between four islands. Each of these islands have five Cat Shines each. The area also has the Ruins Giga Bell that’s used to smack Fury Bowser around once he awakens. The amount needed to unlock the massive power-up changes each time you defeat Bowser starting at 5 Cat Shines and moving up to 15, 20, 40, and finally 50.
The Ruins area is unlocked after defeating Bowser for the first time. Need a Cat Shine from a different area? Use the links below to jump to each section!

To bring it back, walk up the slope facing the entrance and follow the path on the right. This will take you to a ledge you can follow.
