Scorching Sandpaper Far West – Paper Mario: The Origami King Walkthrough

While you’re able to access the Scorching Sandpaper Far West after you get either key for the hotel, you shouldn’t rush in until you have Professor Toad by your side and you completed the Fire Vellumental Cave. To get to the far west side, enter Shroom City and go through the left gate at the entrance.

One you reach this portion of the desert, drive over to the left side where the tower rests. Head inside and read the tablet. “Eclipse the sun above the lake… A buried eye is yours to take!”

Gotta find the eye for the tower so head back outside. There’s only one lake in this area and it’s in Shroom City. Once you enter town, look at the reflection of the blacked out sun in the lake and see if anything begins to block it. Yup, the tower of the hotel can block it completely if you stand near a specific spot along the lake. Ask Professor Toad to dig that area up and he’ll uncover the Round Jewel. Nice!

Head back to the tower and insert the Round Jewel in the eye socket. Like the previous tower, activate the Fire Vellumental power to light the room. This will cause the tower to turn and shine a light at the pedestal in Scorching Desert Minor. Stick around this area to find the collectibles, otherwise head for the exit and make your way to Scorching Sandpaper Far East for the final tower.

Collectibles

Let’s start from the right side and work our way around in a counterclockwise position. First things first, climb up the wooden crates and grab the block containing a Shiny Hurlhammer. To the right is a cactus with bushes all around it. Destroy all the bushes and a glowing spot will appear. Dig to find Flashy Boots.

To the right of the tower is a cactus surrounded by a rectangle of rocks. Destroy every rock to reveal a glowing spot under the cactus. Dig there to find the treasure! To the left of the tower is a hole that needs to be repaired.

Go south from the tower and destroy the short cactus to reveal a buried Toad. Pull him out! As you make your way towards the exit of the area, look for the hole along the southern wall.
