Scorching Sandpaper Far East – Paper Mario: The Origami King Walkthrough

While you’re able to access the Scorching Sandpaper Far West after you get either key for the hotel, you shouldn’t rush in until you have Professor Toad by your side and you completed the Fire Vellumental Cave. To get to the far east side, enter Shroom City and go through the right gate at the entrance.

One you reach this portion of the desert, drive over to the right side where the tower rests. Head inside and read the tablet. The cryptic description describes the location of the eye as something with fire near a wall of wave.

Head back outside and hop into your Boot Car. The jewel location is actually in an area you haven’t visited yet. Return to the Scorched Sandpaper Minor and go into the exit on the right to enter the Scorched Sandpaper East.

Enter the Scorched Sandpaper East and enter the ruins of an old city. You’re looking for the ruins of a house with wave symbols adorned on the walls. Stay closer to the northern section and pass both the sun walled house and the mountain walled house. Once you see the house with waves, walk into the ruins and ask Professor Toad to dig in the old fireplace. Grab the Square Jewel that pops out and return to the Scorched Sandpaper Far East.

Enter the tower, place the jewel in the eye socket, then use the red magic circle to light the flame. Watch as the tower beams out a light and turns. If you’re not sticking around to find all the collectibles, head into Scorched Sandpaper Minor.

Collectibles

Like the other desert area, let’s start at the entrance and work our way around the area, this time going in clockwise direction. Start with the pit of two Toad scorpions and four folded Pokey enemies. Once you enter the pit, the six will dive underground and move around. Follow the location of the two Toads and wait for them to stop before digging them up. If you’re not sure, step away from the pit and the six will resurface.

Want to get an extra 7,000 coins? Defeat all four Pokeys in four separate battles and the last one will drop seven Coin Bags!

Walk a little to the right to find a cactus, a rock, and two bushes. There’s a Toad stuck in the sand in between all four. Go past the tower and look for a hole on the outer wall.

South of the first hole and the tower is the second and final hole.
