While you’re able to access the Scorching Sandpaper West earlier on in the Yellow Streamer chapter, you shouldn’t rush in until you have Professor Toad by your side and you completed the Fire Vellumental Cave. To get to the east side, go right from the Scorching Sandpaper Minor.
For those just looking to complete the story portion, continue reading here and we’ll cover the collectibles in this area at the bottom of this page.
One you reach the tower in Scorched Sandpaper Far East, read the tablet to discover a cryptic message describing the location of an eye as something with fire near a wall of wave. That eye is here in the Scorching Sandpaper East.
Enter the ruins of an old city. You’re looking for the ruins of a house with wave symbols adorned on the walls. Stay closer to the northern section and pass both the sun walled house and the mountain walled house. Once you see the house with waves, walk into the ruins and ask Professor Toad to dig in the old fireplace. Grab the Square Jewel that pops out and return to the Scorched Sandpaper Far East.
Collectibles
Let’s start from the entrance and work our way from the southern portion of the ruins up to the north. For starters, look for a short cactus near the entrance. Smash it to reveal a Toad stuck in the sand. Starting from the south section of the ruins, dig in the fireplace of the first ruined home for a bunch of coins.
In the house with the sun adorned walls is a Boo. Defeat it for a Coin Bag. Get around the tall walls to find a vase in the center of a square formation. Smash it to release four snakes into the area, each of which is a Toad. The first one will stay in the square.
Walk just a tad south of the vase to not only find a hole to repair, but one of the snakes from the vase.
Go along the right outer wall to find another hole. One of the vase snakes hides behind the corner wall. The nearby glowing spot features a bunch of coins.
Start walking towards the center to find another hole in the path. Listen for the final vase snake, it’ll be inside the ruins of the home north of the hole. The nearby glowing spot has coins and a Gold Hammer.
The house in the center has a giant hole to fill in its floor. Head to the northern section of the ruins and look for the Paper Macho Boo guarding this chest. Defeat it and grab the treasure!
Patch up the final hole on the northern outer wall to complete all the collectibles in this area.
