Use the links below to jump to each type of collectible. Please keep in mind, some collectibles can’t be obtained the first time you arrive in a level. And be on the lookout for minor spoilers!

 

Scorching Sandpaper Desert Toad Locations

Toad 1: Starting from the Sun Altar, head south and yank the Toad out of the sand.

Toad 2: In the ruins area, look for a scorpion Toad crawling around the room with the leftover door.

Toad 3: Enter the secret tunnel in the ruins area and find this Toad lodged into a cactus. Give it a few whacks to set it free.

Toad 4: From the ruins area, ride west along the southern wall and you’ll eventually run into another Toad stuck in the sand.

Toad 5: Along the western wall is a green lizard Toad. Walk up the hill and drop onto the lizard to knock it off the wall.

Toad 6: Look for a hole up on a small hill along the western wall. Leads to a Sensor Lab satellite office where a Toad needs to be pulled out of the fax travel machine.

Toad 7: A Toad’s hand can barely be seen sticking out of the sand near the center of the desert. You can see some of the tower from this location.

Toad 8: Whack the bug Toad on the left side of the tower.

Toad 9: After you defeat Hole Punch, enter the secret entrance of the sun altar and use the red magic circle to unfreeze the last Toad of the area.

Not-Bottomless Hole Locations

Hole 1: In the ruins area, patch up the hole on the north wall.

Holes 2-3: In the ruins area, look for two holes to repair near the broken section of the ancient wall.

Hole 4: There’s a hole to patch up within the actual ruins.

Hole 5: Enter the secret tunnel in the ruins area and find hole on the other side. Fill it in to find another secret cafe! Buy the coffee for 100 coins to fully heal, plus you get to watch a few new characters sip away at their drink.

Hole 6: Reach the southwestern section and fill in the giant hole so you can reach the block.

Hole 7: Along the western wall. Nothing notable nearby.

Hole 8: Along the western wall near a lizard Toad.

Hole 9: Up the small hill along the western wall. Leads to a Sensor Lab satellite office.

Hole 10: Make sure to patch up the hole to the left of the yellow warp pipe.

Hole 11: Patch up the hole on the tablet inside the tower.

Hole 12: There’s also a hole to the left of the tower that needs filling!

 

Collectible Treasure Locations

Collectible Treasure #60: In the ruins area, look for the two shining lights with the crumbled walls. Dig with Professor Toad in the northern light to find this treasure!

Collectible Treasure #61: There’s a shining spot near the center of the desert that hides this collectible. The tower can be seen in the background and is also close to the western wall.

Collectible Treasure #64: After you defeat Hole Punch, two hidden blocks can be found within the secret area of the sun altar. There’s a crate to the left of the refrigerators. Hit the space to the right of the crate to reveal the first hidden block, then hop on top of the crate and jump to reveal a hidden block containing a collectible treasure!

Block Locations

Block 1: Go along the right wall and you’ll find a block with a 100-Coin inside.

Block 2: In the ruins area, grab the block holding the Flashy Boots near the north wall.

Block 3: Look for the block next to a scorpion Toad in the ruins area.

Block 4: Enter the secret tunnel in the ruins area and find the block in the area on the other side.

Block 5: Reach the southwestern section and fill in the giant hole so you can reach the block with a Flashy Hammer.

Blocks 6-7: After you defeat Hole Punch, two hidden blocks can be found within the secret area of the sun altar. There’s a crate to the left of the refrigerators. Hit the space to the right of the crate to reveal the first hidden block, then hop on top of the crate and jump to reveal a hidden block containing a a collectible treasure!
