  • Sometimes, this minigame can get off tempo in Download Play. When that happens, try to just time it instead with the notes animations.  ~ Spongyoshi

Puzzle Pronto
  • If you have the first puzzle where you have to press all the mushrooms, I recommend that you are already ready to press when the “Start” icon appears on the screen.  ~ General_JF
  • If you have the puzzle where you have to put the items in their place, DO NOT BE FAST, the game requires precision so if you go too fast, it will not count.  ~ General_JF
  • The puzzle with the pipes is by far the most difficult. I recommend that you try to position each part of the pipe in one direction and see if the game counts it. If not, you can turn it in another part of the pipe and so on, until the game counts it.  ~ General_JF
  • If you have the puzzle with the numbers, similar to that of mushrooms, I recommend that you are already ready when the “Start” appears on the screen.  ~ General_JF
Truckin’ and Cluckin’
  • A golden hen appears when the timer is around 11 seconds and the last golden hen appears randomly in the last 5 seconds.  ~ General_JF

  • Turn without accelerating or you will very easily take a wall.  ~ General_JF
Blown Hover
  • You can do a small jump by tapping the A button quickly, it’ll only jump over 1 tile but it is quicker.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • First obstacles only cover the first two tiles so you can jump over all of them with ease. Afterward, there’s snake-ones that cover one or two of the top spots. If you can, stay below their starting point so you can jump over it. Then, the last four are either a full square that cover the top and middle (don’t jump), a middle and bottom (full jump), or an M formation (jump/go below on the free spaces).  ~ Spongyoshi
Slow G
  • Do small jumps to reach the platforms faster, release the jump button around when your head reaches the bottom of the platform to land on it with minimal time loss.  ~ Spongyoshi

  • Just duck every time you land to not worry about the top firebar. Be careful to release it before jumping, you cannot jump while you’re ducking.  ~ Spongyoshi

Fuel Me Once
  • DON’T SKIP THE DEMO! The speed at which the gasoline loads for the Toad in the the demos is the same for the real minigame!  ~ General_JF

Cheepers Keepers
  • If you’re playing alone, pause-buffering could be a good strategy so you’re ready to smash the right button when it appears, especially against CPU Masters.  ~ General_JF
Drive for Show
  • Aiming is relative to your position so if you’re on the far left, aiming in front or into the left will always shoot your ball to the far left target.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Targets that haven’t been aimed at for a while will change automatically after 5 seconds. You could try to time your shot to aim at it right away when it becomes available again.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Targets often go from 5 to 10 to 20 and finally to -5. This is not always the case, especially towards the end of the minigame.  ~ Spongyoshi

  • Count the number of gaps between each diamonds instead of the number of diamonds in each hole. If a hole has more than 5 gaps, you can be sure it’s not the hole with the most diamonds.  ~ Spongyoshi

  • You can skip almost every platform if you don’t stop spamming A.  ~ General_JF
Bob-omb Aplomb
  • Keep turning in a circle to help push away the bombs.  ~ PickPokey#
  • When trying to take a more offensive approach, let the Bob-ombs come to you and ick them away after about 1.5 seconds.  ~ PickPokey#
Gyro for the Gold
  • On the maze section, right after the ramp, if you bounce on an opponent’s head, you can get on a block and potentially skip a good portion of the maze.  ~ Spongyoshi
Point ‘n’ Shoot
  • Piranha Plant always comes out of one of the three pipes below. Mantas & Lakitus are always flying in the sky. Shy Guy is either on the roof of a building or on the boat. Cheep Cheep & Blooper are always underwater (either in the distance or close to the center island). Goomba is always on the ground (on any of the five islands). Koopa is always inside his hot-air balloon in the sky.  ~ Spongyoshi
Match Faker
  • Taking notes is effective, but if you have a great memory and absolutely need the victory, you can memorize the characters without wasting time taking notes.  ~ General_JF

  • The Goombas get up after 15 seconds in the first half and after 10 seconds when they are angry in the second half. Don’t waste time!  ~ General_JF

  • The Chomp never attacks more than three times. So if he attacked three times, position yourself next to a grid so that he jumps and takes damage!  ~ General_JF

The Choicest Voice
  • The judges don’t judge based on imitation of the character’s voice but on the voice pattern’s representation (below the screen, just below your character’s head on the bottom screen) so if you really want to win, just try to blow to be the closest to the representation of the voice pattern.  ~ General_JF
