4-Player Minigames (16)

Manta Rings
Slime Time
Booksquirm
  • As the pages start to fall faster, you should be constantly moving and trying to predict where the next holes will be and then react while you’re moving rather than standing still and then deciding where to go. You will have a much better chance of surviving.  ~ P-Merks
Mario Medley
  • If you feel like you’re lagging behind, speed up as little as possible, spamming will just make you lose your stamina faster and force you to stop again.  ~ General_JF
Avalanche!
  • The three rocks and two ramps will be in the same position every time you play this minigame.  ~ P-Merks
Domination
Paratrooper Plunge
Toad’s Quick Draw
  • Choose a random color balloon to track as they start to float up. As soon as Toad raises his flag, shoot at the balloon you are currently aiming at and then quickly move to the correct one if your balloon wasn’t the correct one. Since the time between shots is so quick, this is worth it to try and get a quick point before your opponents even have a chance to contest you for it.  ~ P-Merks
Three Throw
  • To get the yellow hoops they must be aligned with your character. When you press A to jump, before you land on the ground (pretty much exactly when you touch it) press A again and you’ll always get the yellow hoop.  ~ Slyshi
Photo Finish
  • Look closely at each puzzle piece and pay attention to the edges. You’ll know which ones are the corner pieces to make it easier.  ~ T-Rexatron9000
  • Everyone will get the same pieces in the same order and same rotation. If you are falling behind, look at your opponents to see which pieces you are about to get so you can catch up.  ~ P-Merks
Mr. Blizzard’s Brigade
  • The Mr. Blizzards are actually aiming at a random player’s current position when their wind-up animation begins. It’s worth noting the large Mr. Blizzard has a very long wind-up animation which makes him very unpredictable!  ~ Spongyoshi
  • The Big Mister Blizzard wake up every 10 seconds after the timer reaches 35!  ~ General_JF
Bob-omb Breakers
Long Claw of the Law
  • Every player has the same enemy layout! Since most players will start off moving to the right, I would recommend to start by moving to the left. While searching your own screen, also pay attention to your opponent who went the opposite direction so you will know some enemy locations.  ~ P-Merks
Stamp Out!
  • You have to try and get a good rhythm going with how long you hold down the A button between jumps. You don’t want to mash because you’ll just move too slowly and not cover as much ground, and you don’t want to hold for too long otherwise you’ll jump too far and miss some ground. Feel it out and try to stay somewhere in the middle.  ~ P-Merks
Mario Speedwagons
  • Don’t start accelerating until the light turns green, not a second sooner! You’ll never be able to reach your top speed otherwise. Only switch gears once the needle goes into the red.  ~ P-Merks
Take a Breather

1 vs. 3 Minigames (9)

Candlelight Fright
  • Solo: Try to switch up midgame between going around the edges to cutting through the center. Try to stay sporadic and unpredictable. If you keep doing the same thing the three will catch on and corner you.  ~ P-Merks
  • Team: Try to aim where the one is going, not where they currently are. Since it takes a little bit to actually shoot, and you are stuck in one place while you are shooting, they will be able to get away in time before you actually hit them if you aim directly at them.  ~ P-Merks
Makin’ Waves
  • As a team player and against CPUs, try to be as synchronous as possible with them, as soon as you see them stop making waves, it’s because they are trying to prepare a big synchronized wave, it happens every 3/4/5 waves!  ~ General_JF
Hide and Go BOOM!
Tree Stomp
  • Solo: Make sure when you have to run between people you run past their sides since it’s difficult for them to move left and right quickly. Don’t be afraid to try and make tight squeezes around the three and avoid getting cornered.  ~ P-Merks
  • Team: Do your best not to run into your other teammates. Coordinate with each other to try and corner the one and have one person slowly go in to deliver the final blow.  ~ P-Merks
Fish ‘n’ Drips
Hop or Pop
  • Team: Make sure that when you do a triple jump, you get far away from the solo player since you won’t be able to jump again right away. With a triple jump, you will get enough height to jump over the them if necessary. Spread out.  ~ P-Merks
  • Solo: I find it easier to turn if I’m not moving too quickly and by jumping a bunch.  ~ P-Merks
Money Belt
  • Team: Hug the front as much as possible. This will help you outpace the supplementary hazards.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Solo: Also hug the front. This will give you more time to potentially grab two coins instead of one or get a money bag that’s slightly out of reach.  ~ Spongyoshi
GOOOOOOOAL!!
  • Solo: You’ll have a better time just walking towards the ball rather than trying to dive.  ~ P-Merks
  • Team: Make sure not to charge for too long otherwise your ball will hit the top of the net and miss.  ~ P-Merks
Blame it on the Crane
  • Always walk the opposite direction of which the convener belt is going and right at the peak of when you’re close to the crane, run towards it before it lowers. It’s the best to not get caught but always be sure to mix it up. CPUs will always have a hard time with this.  ~ Slyshi

2 vs. 2 Minigames (9)

The Great Deflate
  • You want to make sure you are always in sync with your teammate! Try to do the highest ground pounds you can.  ~ P-Merks
Revers-a-Bomb
  • Rather than looking at your own side, keep an eye on your opponent and follow where they go so you can immediately turn each button they press back on to them.  ~ P-Merks
Right Oar Left?
  • It might look like the minigame is timing-based, but you actually have to mash to go faster. Try to mash both A and B as much as you can, moving to a specific side as least as you can.  ~ Spongyoshi
Cliffhangers
  • The FIRST warning for storm is always going to be false alarm so you can ignore it completely.  ~ Slowcast
Team Treasure Trek
  • You can tell where you are going to spawn based on your placement in the minigame instruction screen. Keep this in mind so you can better plan your route when you see the overview of the map in the beginning. The players from left to right on the instruction screen will start the minigame at this location: bottom left, top left, bottom right, top right.  ~ P-Merks
Pair-a-Sailing
  • As the boat driver, you should pay close attention to the upcoming coin positions so you can better plan your speed. If you’re going top speed and there is a coin that’s out of the way of the rest of the upcoming coins, it’s best to not slow down and just ignore that one and go for the ones that are more grouped together.  ~ P-Merks
Order Up
  • If you’re playing alone, try to remember a pattern with the most variety of food items and follow it around when it spins. If playing with another player, try to be on the other side of your opponent and remember the 5 boxes closest to you.  ~ Spongyoshi
Dungeon Duos
  • Try to reach the second spinning lever before your partner (especially if it’s a CPU) as the platform moves faster if both players are spinning the lever, you want your partner to spin the lever with you when they get on the other side!  ~ Spongyoshi
Cheep Cheep Sweep
  • If you and your teammate get an early lead, you can try to block the other team’s goal to prevent them from scoring any more points. Walking directly into players will slow them down more.  ~ P-Merks
  • Tilt the joystick around halfway to walk as fast as possible while not making waves.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Try to sabotage the other players by walking fast over their fishes. Try to walk slowly if your partner is fishing nearby.  ~ Spongyoshi

Battle Minigames (6)

Trace Race
  • Try to focus in front of the tip of the marker to trace the line more accurately.  ~ Cel
Chain Chomp Fever
  • If you are confident in your ability to dodge and want to make the game more difficult for your opponents, stand near areas where the walls are already broken so the Chain Chomp will change directions immediately upon going there.  ~ P-Merks
Paths of Peril
  • Right after each fork, if you see you’re about to get the long (straight-edged) path, turn back and go the other way to get the shorter path; if you can react quickly enough to the cliffside ahead of you, this is faster than proceeding down the long path.  ~ piguy314159
Bowser’s Bigger Blast
Butterfly Blitz
  • Aim mostly for blue and red butterflies, only get yellow ones if there’s nothing more interesting nearby or if they’ll be quick to catch.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • You can also catch butterflies outside the edge of the arena with a well-timed overhead swing.  ~ Spongyoshi
Rumble Fishing

Bowser Minigames (3)

Darts of Doom
Fruits of Doom
Balloon of Doom

Story Minigames (5)

Bowser Bop
  • Hit between the two heads coming from the drawers to hit them both at the same time!  ~ Spongyoshi
Mystic Match ‘Em
  • Settle for the set of cards that have been drawn the least so far (counting the ones in your opponent’s hand).  ~ Spongyoshi
Archaeologuess
  • The blue rocks are either square-shaped or triangle-shaped. The blue arrows either have one or two ends. The blue round-shapes are either cylinders or flat circles. The blue circle has either only one half or both. The triangles either have a flat or pointy top. The green height-like shapes either have two circles of the same size or one smaller than the other.  ~ Spongyoshi
Goomba’s Chip Flip
  • From my testing, try to follow the most-bottom token in the beginning cutscene, it’ll usually either give you 10 or 20 points.  ~ Spongyoshi
Kareening Koopas
  • You actually want to slow down the shells so they can get into their holes faster so do not tilt too harshly.  ~ Spongyoshi

Etc. Minigames (3)

The Final Battle!
  • The first phase is easy, just take it slowly. For the second phase, quickly ground pound bottom-left, top-left, top-right and bottom-right.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • For the third phase, same thing as the first. For the fourth phase, do middle, top-middle, top-right, middle-right, bottom-right.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • For the last phase, always aim for the buttons on the bottom-left, bottom-right and middle-top as they give the biggest triangle.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • When Bowser stops, always assume he will do a charge and run away since if he pushes you out of the platform with that attack, it’s game over. If he’s not in the center yet when two buttons have been pushed, wait a bit and lure him in the center before hitting the last button quickly.  ~ Spongyoshi
