4-Player Minigames (20)

Treadmill Grill
  • I find it is worth the risk to fight rather than playing passive and causing a draw. Try to lure your opponents to the edges to ground pound them so they’ll be stunned and slide off the edge of the treadmill.  ~ P-Merks
Ice Rink Risk
  • The ground is slippery so if you suddenly change which direction you’re walking, you’ll be stuck in a sliding animation for around 2 seconds! I’d suggest to rotate in a moderate speed to your desired location on the ground instead.  ~ Spongyoshi
  • Try to jump in a rather linear direction as when you land, it seems to compare it with which direction you were facing before the jump to see if you’ll be put into the sliding animation.  ~ Spongyoshi
Parasol Plummet
  • Cling to one side and stay there for the entire minigame. This allows you to grab the coins as soon as they are thrown. Works better when fewer people are on your side. ~ SpiderStaryu
Messy Memory
  • Memorize each object in one row, then memorize the first letter of every object in the second row. This helps form a combination of letters that is easy to remember. ~ SpiderStaryu
  • If playing with CPUs, focus on the items that belong to specific characters (i.e. hats, necktie, egg); the CPUs tend to be more accurate at placing the other items, so you can copy where they put them.  ~ piguy314159
  • Another way for remembering the items is by association. Try to group items by color or character for each row. I personally try to find the plumbers caps & DK items (banana, hammer & tie) and go from there.  ~ Spongyoshi
Picture Imperfect
  • Remember that the timer of this mini game is 60 seconds. You have all your time to try to make the perfect picture!  ~ General_JF
M.P.I.Q.
  • You can always just spam the A button the second text appears on-screen, you have a 1/3 chance of choosing correctly so you might as well go for it.  ~ Gianluca_S
Curtain Call
  • Memorize the first letter of each character, it’s far simple this way.  ~ Haruwolf
Cheep Cheep Chase
  • The space between the third and fourth set of bombs is shorter than the rest, so dive a little earlier on the third set so you don’t immediately hit the fourth set when you surface.  ~ piguy314159
Snowball Summit
  • You should always have a snowball ready instead of trying to dodge a huge snowball. As long as you hold on to a snowball, you can deflect a big snowball with it.  ~ Slowcast
Toadstool Titan
Aces High
  • Use the borders of the arena to get a better position and a temporary invincibility period.  ~ Spongyoshi
Bounce ‘n’ Trounce
Chip Shot Challenge
Mario’s Puzzle Party
  • At the start, hold down and quickly build a stack on a single inner column. Skip the other inner column, and try to stack blocks on the outer column away from the column you just made. Now fill in blocks on the inner column that you skipped over. This is the best way to chain combos. Just make sure to not spam too fast if you are filling up too much.  ~ SilverJD
The Beat Goes On
  • Singing the button combination in the form of chanting will help you remember! And if you are playing with friends, you can make them laugh to lose the focus!  ~ JaiFain
Water Whirled
  • You want to start turning when you’re lined up with the third square from the edge of the middle divider. This will turn you the sharpest without going backwards.  ~ Sluggish_Shroom
Frigid Bridges
  • The Cheep Cheep will always stay on a specific cycle. If you are running towards it and see it jump, you should be safe to keep moving. If you are moving towards it and you haven’t seen it jump, it might be worth it to slow down and wait for the jump so you won’t get pushed off.  ~ P-Merks
Awful Tower
  • Hold A and B together to increase the momentum in your jump. This helps you reach blocks farther away. ~ SpiderStaryu
  • If someone gets a big enough lead or you just need a few extra coins, just focus on the two or three first coins of the tower.  ~ Spongyoshi
Pipe Cleaners
  • As soon as the timer hits 3 seconds remaining, Baby Bowsers will be in all four pipes. You should swing at your first target right before the timer hits 3 so you can make sure to get all four before time is up.  ~ P-Merks
Rockin’ Raceway
  • Going as fast as you can is only half-productive; slow down a little as you go near the carrot pickups, then accelerate as they turn orange.  ~ G.M.

2 vs. 2 Minigames (12)

Eatsa Pizza
  • Unlike Superstars and The Top 100, it’s pretty hard to finish the pizza entirely before the timer ends, so focus on eating all the pizza first and then finish with the pizza crust!  ~ General_JF
Baby Bowser Broadside
Cosmic Coaster
Puddle Paddle
Log Jam
Pump, Pump, and Away
  • Try to also be in synch with you partner for better distances. Teamwork is key!  ~ Kenko Shinkuma
Hyper Hydrants
  • You should always use B (stream). A (spraying) is generally too weak and short-ranged.  ~ Slowcast
Picking Panic
Etch ‘n’ Catch
Slot Sync
  • After you get Toad the first time, press A immediately when the dice block starts to spin and you’ll get Toad again. ~ SpiderStaryu

1 vs. 3 Minigames (11)

Coconut Conk
Spotlight Swim
Boulder Ball
  • As the single player, keep throwing boulders to either far right or far left (you’re free to alternate these directions), and don’t stop under any circumstances.  ~ Slowcast
Crazy Cogs
Hide and Sneak
  • A common strategy with many players is to pick two times the same hiding spot then pick the remaining one for their last. If you see someone employing this strategy, there’s a great chance it’ll work out!  ~ Spongyoshi
River Raiders
Tidal Toss
  • As the team, you should only jump over the ground-pound waves as the tiny waves only pushes you a little but gives you invincibility frames for a short while which helps to dodge the big waves!  ~ Spongyoshi
Hand, Line, and Sinker
  • Solo: Keeping the joystick down then moving it to the sides improves the handling of the fishing rod.  ~ JaiFain
  • Team: With a Hard CPU fishing, move to the top and wait the CPU to launch the rod. Move two-three times to left. Go back to the middle. Repeat the process until the end.  ~ Haruwolf
Ridiculous Relay
Thwomp Pull
  • For both the single player and the team of three, each group of three buttons always includes one A, one B and one Z; thus you can immediately know every third button in advance.  ~ piguy314159

Battle Minigames (8)

Stacked Deck
Three Door Monty
Merry-Go-Chomp
Slap Down
  • If the matching flower does not show up in the first eight turns, it will show up on the 9th turn so make sure to press A as fast as soon as the 9th ?-space gets revealed.  ~ CedrikPle
Locked Out
  • Grabbing keys has a lot of endlag, being the first one to grab the key will likely put you in a bad spot!  ~ JaiFain
All Fired Up
  • The Podoboos will move around sporadically before going into either a circle, line, or cross formation. While they are casually moving around, you should always wait in the corners since the line formation will touch the left and right sides at the start and the cross will touch the top, bottom, left, and right at the start. This way you’ll at least be safe while they are switching formations.  ~ P-Merks
Storm Chasers
  • Because players bodies block each other, it may not be wise to chase the storm fully into a corner / wall. It’s often better to let someone else do so, then block them with your body as the storm moves out into the open. It’s much easier to try and follow the storm out in the open, than to both track the storm and attempt to walk around other players.  ~ DMG
Eye Sore
  • Be careful when trying to go in between a Podoboo and the eye since the Podoboo hitboxes are a bit larger than they appear. Sometimes it may be worth it to slow down and wait for it to disappear, but if you’re confident you can definitely squeeze in between them and keep moving.  ~ P-Merks

Duel Minigames (10)

Vine With Me
  • If a long vine matches with a short vine, you may be able to grab it directly without having to jump!  ~ Spongyoshi
Popgun Pick-Off
End of the Line
  • Pay attention to what your opponent picks, as the correct path will be the same for both players.  ~ piguy314159
Baby Bowser Bonkers
  • You can easily chain multiple bounces by doing short hops. Make sure to jump on the Baby Bowser at the start of the chain instead of just walking into them otherwise you’ll lose too much momentum and be unable to start the chain.  ~ P-Merks
Silly Screws
  • Use the lines on the metal rod to help you with positioning in front of the next screw.  ~ Spongyoshi
Crowd Cover
  • Toad: pay attention to the right arm and right foot.  ~ G.M.
  • Bob-omb: pay attention to the eyes.  ~ G.M.
  • Boo: pay attention to the left arm and the mouth size.  ~ G.M.
Tick Tock Hop
  • The pattern will change in every three or four jumps. If not on the third jump, then it will be on the fourth jump.  ~ Slowcast
Bowser Toss
Motor Rooter
  • Even if you can’t see the electric trail itself from far away, just know that the safe spot is always on the direct opposite side of the Amp.  ~ P-Merks
Fowl Play
  • Try to force the chicken to get close to a wall to pick it up more easily.  ~ Spongyoshi

Item Minigames (6)

Winner’s Wheel
  • Press A just a little bit before the item you want. The second or third light on the item before the item you really wish to get. ~ SpiderStaryu
Hey, Batter, Batter!
Bobbing Bow-loons
Dorrie Dip
  • Start a full jump when your desired item leaves the spotlight. You must hit Z after reaching the apex of your jump and starting to fall back down to initiate the ground-pound. If timed correctly, you should delay your ground-pound just enough to get the item of your choice!  ~ Spongyoshi
Swinging with Sharks
  • To have the 5th barrel, you have to wait for the character to reach the highest point in the swing and then you have to press A at the right time!  ~ General_JF
Swing ‘n’ Swipe

Special Minigames (3)

Stardust Battle
Dizzy Dinghies
Mario’s Puzzle Party Pro

Game Guy Minigames (4)

Game Guy’s Lucky 7
Game Guy’s Magic Boxes
Game Guy’s Roulette
Game Guy’s Sweet Surprise
  • If the multiplier of the mini-chomp is either x4 or x8, might as well pick the mini-chomp as your odds are very close to a 50/50 deal. Likewise, if the odds are x16 or above, go for the x2 as the mini-chomp becomes very unlikely to win!  ~ Spongyoshi
