Characters, Ranked Outfits, and Unlockables – Mario Golf: Super Rush Guide

Our Mario Golf: Super Rush unlockables guide details how to get every character, unlock every course, and reveal all secrets and rewards.

The Nintendo Switch is the latest home for the Mario Golf series. Good! The last entry released on a home console was Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour on the GameCube in 2003, nearly two decades ago! Mario Golf: Super Rush features a cast of returning and new playable characters, unique courses from throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, and a Story Mode where your Mii character faces off against opponents to gain experience points.  There’s also a cool new game mode called Speed Golf where players race to their ball after hitting it. Items are involved!

As for our guide, the goal is to not only to list all the playable characters and golf courses you’ll be able to play on, but to also highlight which ones are secret along with details on how to unlock them. We also have tips on unlocking other rewards and secrets. So! Now the game is released and it turns out the unlockables are fairly on the mild side. All characters are unlocked from the start and courses simply need to be played through to unlock the next. But hey, there are clubs and outfits to unlock along the way! Additional characters and courses were added through free updates following the initial release and all you have to do is boot up the game to unlock them.

List of Characters

A total of 21 playable characters are available in Super Rush, five of which were added through DLC!

Ranked Outfits and Schedule

Several characters have alternate outfits, but they can only be unlocked through timed rewards via the Ranked Match mode. Each month brings a different unlockable outfit that you can unlock if you achieve A- or higher within that month. Don’t fret if you miss a month! There are 13 months of rewards, and the cycle will repeat once each of the 13 months have passed. The monthly outfit rewards will always appear in the same order.

Ranked Outfit Schedule

Monthly ranked rewards started in August 2021 with Yoshi (Blue, Red, Yellow). Each subsequent month brought a new reward until Shy Guy (Pink, Light Blue, Orange) in August 2022. From there, the 13-month cycle repeated starting with Yoshi (Blue, Red, Yellow) in September 2022. Since we can’t assign an outfit to a single month of the year, we’ll create a basic table for two cycles to give you an idea of when to expect any outfits you haven’t unlocked yet.
