WOW AMAZING
I'd like to run a mafia game here, and I hope people are interested in doing this again. Unfortunately I really don't have the creativity (or the effort) to make it story centric like Yoshiman did for his Mafia games. ill try my best in that though so it's not some boring one sentence update lol
story for yoshiman:
welcome to introvertsville, usa. a place where no one knows there neighbors. apparently a few people involved in the mafia moved in and want to kill everyone. the mafia has decided that the small apartment complex would be a great place for a casino and have to take extreme measures in order to make that happen. now it's up to the town to leave their orvillian apartments and actually do something. because they never leave their apartments they have absolutely no idea who is who. there is word that one guy is a doctor or something, another likes to spy on others through the window and call themselves a detective, one has a lot of money and uses it to tell politicians which poor people to terrorize, and one is a guy who thinks he's a cop.
so because these people are so logical, they have come up with an incredibly appropriate solution: vote on who to hang and then invade their apartment room and figure out if they are mafia or not. if it doesn't work, they all give up and go home and try again the next day. this means that the special people have to act in the night in order to actually figure out stuff.
If you don't know what Mafia is or how to play, here is a flash guide on the basic rules of the game. If you like words, there are words on this game here.

-Don't sit on the sidelines, engage in the discussion and form your own opinions
Also, if you sign up and you have change of heart suddenly, let me know so that I can attempt to replace you. If you're trying to break the Kinetic Rule or intentionally trying to break rules, I'll remove you from the game and will not consider you for any future Mafia games that I run.
ROLES:
It'll depend on the member of people actually playing the game. Ideally, I'd like to have half the players as regular townsfolk and the other half in some sort of role. However, there are going to be a few roles that will be in the game:
Assuming an 8 player game:
Mafia: (2 players) Allowed to kill one player during the Night phase (has to be agreed upon between the mafia members).
Doctor: (1 player) Allowed to protect one player during the Night phase (can be themselves). The role of the Doctor trumps the role of the Mafia.
Detective: (1 player) Allowed to investigate one player during the Night phase.
Assuming a 10 player game:
Lobbyist: (1 player) Their vote during the day phase will count for double. Will only show up in the final count.
Assuming an 11 player game:
An additional Mafia role is added, bringing the total to 3 players.
Assuming a 14 player game:
Neighborhood Police: (1 player) Allowed to prevent one player from performing their assigned role during the Night phase. If they chose one member of the mafia, the mafia's kill for the night is prevented. If they chose the Lobbyist, then their vote for the next day will only count as a single vote.
Assuming a 16 player game:
An additional Mafia role is added, bringing the total to 4 players.
Roles are subject to change prior to start of the game. All roles within the game will be announced prior to the beginning of the game.
