Worst Mario Powerups

I don't know why, but I really seem to hate the Fire Flower. I think the reason for this is that the cape in SMW was so much better.

Yeah, also you could walk over munchers without getting hurt.

The only other power-up I hate is the Gold Flower. It makes things super easy and removes any challenge.
 
Spring Mushroom literally has to be the worst thing Nintendo ever came up with in terms of Mario.
 
5. Spring Mushroom-Hard to control, and would be good if it could stop in place when you use it
4.Goomba Boot-Not really nothing special
3. Frog Suit-just make you swim faster and does no damage to enemies
2. P-Balloon-makes you float  :what: been there, done that
1.Super Flower-Honestly whenever I'm close up on a goomba in Super Mario Land I'm hoping to hit with this item but nooooooo it has to bounce  :mad: :(

I love all of these. :( I think the Spring Mushroom is the 2nd best power-up of all time (2nd only to the Cat Suit), with the other 4 all in the Top 10. For bad ones, I'd say the Wing Cap. It was very hard to control, especially in the N64 version.
 
....The Red Star in Super Mario Galaxy. Not because it's a bad powerup, but because you never get to actually use it to complete certain missions or whatnot, which makes me kinda disappointed.
The P-Balloon in Super Mario World. Not because of what the powerup does...It's when you get hit while you have it. You suddenly plummet. Too many a time in a SMW romhack have I seen that essentially cause instant death.
Also, I'm not sure if items in Paper Mario games count, but...the Dry Shroom heals only 1 HP, and since it's a Shroom, we can assume it was once a useful powerup.

As for other powerups...
I liked the idea of the Frog Suit, and it's still handy for big jumps, but the bouncing takes getting used to.
Propeller Suit gets that drill stomp which, IMO, was quite fun to use.
Kuribo's Shoe protects you from munchers. That alone, I'd say, makes it useful.
Rock Mushroom wasn't that hard to control (maybe I was used to rolling ball controls?)
And Spring Mushroom was at least an interesting idea for challenge.
