I usually use 4-5 with computers just to have some fun, since I'm not an expert at the game. I'll use 9 when I'm just fooling around, getting my ass kicked.

Exactly this and I consider my brother a level 8-9 player so it's lot of challenge but lots of fun too.Snowy The Czar said:

I normally put them on levels 7-9. I try to beat 2 level 9 CPU's(that are on the same team) by myself. I can't pull it off though. Basically, a 1 vs 2 match. I do this with no items.
Always Level 9. If i'm gonna battle against humans, I need to able to defeat the highest CPU. 
All of them. I can beat Level 9s sometimes, but also Lv1s can just get extremely lucky with Smash Balls. =P

I'm in the middle of the pack, 5 and 6
I always use 9 and I win half the time. It's fun because it's a challenge for me but it's also easy sometimes.
When I have friends over though, I set them down a bit because it'd be way too hard for them.

I usually put the CPUs at 4, but when I feel Risky I put them at a 9
I keep them all on level 9 for a free for all. I have them 8 or 7 if I'm fighting against them. I'd say that I'm extremely good at the game.Melvin said:

For me alone nine, for my sister and I 7-8, with anyone else, none.
