Tiny-Huge Island

Tiny-Huge Island is the thirteenth course of Super Mario 64 and Super Mario 64 DS. It is an island surrounded by cliffs and an ocean and is located on the second floor of the castle. This level has many coins, with 191 total, many of which come from Ground Pounding on the big Goombas for one blue coin each. Strategically placed around the island are pipes that can alter the size on the entire level, a feature reminiscent of Super Mario Bros. 3's Level 6 of Big Island, where there are doors that change the enemies' sizes. The main creatures in the level are Piranha Plants that shoot fire, Koopas, Lakitus, Koopa the Quick, Bubbas, and Goombas. All can change in size and be replaced. When in the huge version of the island, two Bubbas are in the water, Goombas and Piranha Plants are huge, Koopa the Quick is present, and a cannon is available. The boss of this level is a Wiggler.

A unique feature of this level is the option to choose how the level first appears. It is also unique in that it can be entered via two paintings, one small and one large, located to the left and right, respectively, of a central painting, which Mario cannot enter. The entrance room employs forced perspective, which gives the illusion that all three paintings are the same size. Entering the small painting causes the island to begin "tiny" (Mario thus beginning significantly larger than everything else in the level). Entering the large painting causes the island to begin "huge" (Mario thus being extremely small compared to other objects and enemies throughout the level). To access this, defeat Bowser in Bowser in the Fire Sea and win the key to the castle's upper floors.

I loved ground-pounding the Big Goombas to get a Blue Coin. This world is unique since it's two in one. Getting up the island is so easy by using the Koopa Shell in the big island. Koopa The Quick is tricky in the Nintendo 64 version, but he's easy in the DS version. And it's also the only world to have the most coins.

I hated this course with a passion. Especially the footrace with Koopa Quick. Always fell off the damn windy bridge. :p

In this level - there was a fish that could instantly kill you - right? I always hated those things when I was younger!
Yeah, those darn Bubbas. I hated them when I was young, too, so you're not the only one. They're also in Yoshi's Story, in Page 4-2, Jungle Puddle. Those were the worst.
Well - as long as you didn't go into the water - you were safe, right? I always went fast to the koopa shell then!

Right, as long as you're not within their presence. There's only two of them, and only in the huge island. One is between the Piranha Plant Flowers and the rock island, and the other is between the cannon and the small island with a stake and a sign, near the beach.
