The secret ? switch! (N64: Tower of the Wing Cap)

I can tell you a hint: Collect some power stars (around 15 of them), head towards the castle entrance (there should be light shining from above), zoom close to the character and face the light and you'll be in the secret ? switch area.

Remember for the DS version: Only the hero with the red cap can do this move. The others can't have wings!! No.

You need 10 Stars in Super Mario 64, but 14 instead in Super Mario 64 DS.

That one is pretty easy to do, though. Just collect the eight red coins and then stomp on the switch.

What about the Metal one and the Invisible one?  Don't they have secret areas too?

They do. They have their own switches in Super Mario 64, but not in DS.

The Metal (Green) Switch can be found at the end of Hazy Maze Cave's Secret Area.
The Vanish (Blue) Switch can be found outside of Peach's Castle (after you pound the 2 pillars, go outside and head right until you fall down a hole. Reach the end of this secret level and you'll find the switch. This could be tricky due to moving platforms though).

They do. They have their own switches in Super Mario 64, but not in DS.

It's because of other characters in the DS version. They have their own power-ups.

I liked having the 3 switch areas instead of just the one in the DS remake. I liked having certain caps at certain areas instead of which character you had, like in the DS remake (So I can get invisible metal Mario)

I didn't like that DS version's switches are merged. They should have kept them seperated, but oh well.

The eight red coins were kind of a pain, but I agree the switches were better in the original rather than the DS ones.

I like Blue Switch>Green Switch>Red Switch
Blue since Vanish Cap Under the Moat is awesome
Green since I really like Metal Cap
Red is last since I didn't really realise the flying controls

Why did the video have the second half repeated?

Anyway, getting all the red coins is the tricky part, since if you miss them, especially the ones that are high, you can't get that altitude from the tower. You have to restart the whole level.

Anyone try getting every coin in this secret area?

Try me, VIP. On my first try in Super Mario 64, the red coins were hard to get. But I completed it before jumping on the Wing Cap Switch!

I mean, you can't collect all of the coins in this secret level.
